My husband had three joint replacements last year, and we had obtained a toilet safety rail similar to this for our master bath. He mentioned to me that he was still having difficulty getting up from the toilet in our half bath that had no rails. The rails from our other bathroom were just a little too wide to fit in the half bath's toilet alcove, so rather than order an identical set, I found this one. Very similar in construction to the other one, except this one is adjustable in width across the back. This made it possible to adjust to the perfect size. Wide enough to put the hand grips in their most useful place, but narrow enough that it left room for the wastebasket and plunger that live in the corners of the alcove, and to clear the wall mounted toilet paper holder. This is sturdy and feels very solid when bearing down on it to lift yourself up. No shifting or sagging. Assembly was quick, and we and it in place in a matter of ten minutes after it arrived. Highly recommend!

I’m giving these safety rails 5 stars bc once I put them together and placed them in the bathroom, they have helped tremendously. I’m caring for my husband who has Alzheimer’s, and he needs assistance with everything. Lately, going to the bathroom challenges us both. On two occasions, he fell. It’s a small space and difficult for us both to be in there.Now that we have the rails, he uses them for stability and to help lift himself (I’m right there helping too) off the toilet.Assembling the rails posed a problem bc I don’t have the strength to depress the buttons that snap the rails together. But where there’s a will there’s a way! Older folks with arthritis in their hands may need help putting the rails together.Very stable/sturdy product!

Took maybe 10 minutes to put together. Very easy and didn't need any instructions. I looked at a lot of these toilet supports and chose the one where the legs are not straight up and down, but a little more stable by having them slightly outward with good rubber cups on ends. The unit came with 2 different "feet" - both rubber, and one set is quite large with suction cups at the end. I took one star off because after setting it over the toilet and fixing the legs to the correct height for my husband, the back rails interfere with the flushing handle and also rests against the porcelain tank, too, so had to cushion the rails with a towel so the rails don't mar or scratch the porcelain.

Great product, however, I will say that I had to get the hammer out to drive the legs in so that the buttons would fit into the holes. I was not strong enough as a 77-year-old woman to do it on my own. Otherwise, it was easy to assemble. It enables me to get up off the toilet as my knee recovers from a total knee replacement.

Ugly but well made, easy assembly and serves the purpose.

My parents could install it on their own and they are very happy with it.

It works great for me. I have knee issues and as I age I am finding it more difficult to stand without assistance. This works well for me and will definitely help with an upcoming surgery. This was easy to assemble and set up. It is also adjustable to the size of the toilet.

I knew I needed help getting off the toilet. This seemed like the perfect solution. It's sturdy and I love that it folds away when you're not using it so that it's not in the way for others. However, if you need to lean to one side or the other while tending to your hygiene, it's difficult if not impossible to do if you have this set up as pictured. What I ended up doing is not putting it around the back, but putting it in front of me kind of like a walker. I pull it close enough to push down and raise myself. If that doesn't work for you, then you may want to consider another option.
