They are very bright.

These pen lights are junk. Don't waste your money. They work as long you don't carry them in your front pants pocket. They never work after that.

I got this flashlight to replace a cheap LED flashlight I got off a popular cheap China-based website. I expected this to blow it away. It however didn't really. It is roughly the same brightness to start with. Just put in the two included batteries and press the button on the back. But after just a few minutes the brightness starts to ramp down. Really you only get just a few minutes of full brightness. The description mentions 3500 hours of usage but when you get the product the manual clearly points out the batteries only last about 1 hour. So I guess the 3500 hours is the lifetime of the flashlight. That wasn't really clear and makes it kind of disappointing. But I also understand it takes a lot of energy to generate that light so it makes sense that the batteries drain so fast. I am skeptical they last a whole hour though.Meanwhile the flashlight I already had was not only cheaper but had a rechargeable internal battery. That one lasts about 20 minutes (much shorter than this one) but you can at least recharge it and use it again the next day. So I think I'll be sticking with that for now.

The large flashlight doesn't light quite as well as the small one, but overall I'm very happy with the purchase. And especially the price.

This easy clip, bright light was just the ticket! Solid, small & easily stored on shirt or visor with an incredible beam.of light!
