This speaker was exactly what I needed to turn up the volume in place of my feeble Windows laptop speakers. It's nice looking and doesn't have lights blasting your eyes like many speakers do (and who wants to look at a speaker, anyway?). There's only one small green power indicator LED next to the volume knob -- don't be misled by the product illustrations that make it look as if it has blue lights around the volume knob and speakers. It has a subtle, discrete shape that looks good without making a fuss about itself. The speaker's sound does a fine job for both the spoken word and for acoustic music. I notice much more musical detail (when listening to a singer with an acoustical guitar) than with my laptop speakers. I'm not an audiophile, but I find the sound very pleasant and not at all tinny. The volume knob is handy, and I have enough volume when sitting near the speaker, even for movies. The bass is not maximized, though, so if you like to blast your ears and body with really loud, immersive sound or you are not sitting near the speaker, you might prefer larger speakers. On my laptop, the 3.5 mm speaker jack is right next to a USB-A port, so it is very convenient to plug in, but it would also be easy to pull the plugs apart, separating the cord into two strands to plug into opposite sides of a computer. The cord is almost five feet long (58 inches, 150 cm). It's great to have USB power so you don't have to plug it into an electrical outlet or charge it, and it's also great to have a 3.5 mm plug so you don't have to bother with connecting to Bluetooth. I really like the simplicity. If there were one thing I'd change, it would be to have the cord come out of one of the ends rather that the middle of the back of the speaker, since I would like to position the speaker on its back, but I'm sure the current configuration suits most people. Combine all that with the low price (on sale for $11), and I'm very happy with my purchase.

We have thoroughly enjoyed this amazing little speaker and its affordable price. The sound quality is very good for the price, a little lacking in the higher frequencies, but that's OK because we didn't want it to be our main speaker or anything. We just wanted some background Gospel music or scripture reading. A little Christmas music in the background as we spoke in the living room. We have had it running almost 24 hours a day for a few weeks now, and it has run perfectly. It's plugged into our old iPhone which still had a headphone port, so it was perfect for this application. We have it powered via a USB block on our lamp, and it has worked perfectly. The size is perfect and it fits on our lamp as you can see from the photo. We are very pleased with the speaker, but honestly the best part about it is the large dial for the volume. It allows us to switch it off or turn it up and down in a tactile way without using menus or push buttons. It's really nice as you get older to have simple dials like this, because they aid in dexterity. It also seems very durable, I think it'll last quite a while.

Works well, pretty loud and has a surprisingly good base. Cord Length fits my needs. Sound Quality is standard for a speaker for less than 15$. As far as durability goes, the speaker is light weight, so don't go dropping it. Overall, a good purchase for those who don't want high fancy brand speakers.

I really like the fact that these speakers are powered by USB. I also like that the controls are manual analog. I use this for TV built into an RV. When I turn on the tv, the USB port on the TV power's the speakers on and the volume is at the perfect level every time. Works really well for what I need. No, you're not going to get booming bass out of it, but overall it's a decent speaker system for the price.

This okay, the computer speaker is louder than the desk speaker

I wanted a speaker with no battery. This device is powered by a USB cable that plugs into a USB A adapter. It just works. The sound is adequate for my needs. Recommended.

I bought this to use with a 43" TV that has massive fluctuations in volume when using streaming services. Changing the TV settings did nothing. I would need to crank the volume up to hear dialogue and then turn it down when music or an action scene came on. Hardly desirable for watching at night. This is simple to use. I plugged the USB into my TV and used the AUX/headphone out on the TV into this speaker. Since this is controlled by a knob, I simply turned it all the way up and control the volume with the TV remote. Problem solved, mostly. The fluctuations are mostly gone which has more to do with the AUX-out than it does with the speaker. The sound quality isn't the best, maybe only slightly better than the TV speakers. It's loud enough for what I need it for (watching TV at night). If you're having the same issues that I am, it's worth a try. This won't win any awards for sound quality or aesthetics but it will at least make it easier to stream movies and shows at night.
