Losing weight
I’ve lost 2 stone since eating slim pasta. They have a weird fishy smell when you first open them so I rinse them thoroughly and then boil in salted water which completely removes the smell. The texture is rubbery but I quite like that. Add whatever sauce you want and it’s a great low calorie dinner.

Good rice substitute
We’ve tried cauliflower rice with various herbs and spices and aren’t too keen. It doesn’t have a fishy smell at all and takes on the flavour of what it’s mixed with. Obviously cauliflower rice is cheaper, but if you want the Keto lifestyle you need to find something that suits your taste. This is our Keto rice preference.

Taste like rubber
I have tried some other konjac products so I sort of knew what I was expecting... Sort of...First thing is that when they are opened they smell fishy. It is just the way konjac products smell - wash them with water and after adding some sauce, smell disappears.They are coloured and not translucent which is a huge positive - when I see something translucent on my plate, have to say I lose my appetite.You are probably wondering why the low rating. It is because of taste. I prepared them as advised by the manufacturer and the taste of them in my pasta dish was quite rubbery. There is no way to avoid them due to size - thickness so every mouthful has this rubber in it. Konjac noodles from the other brand were quite unnoticeable in terms of taste. All this being said, I still haven't tried rice and hope that will be better because of size - much smaller so easier to mask the taste.I will not be preparing them again so the rest of this pack goes to the bin but still optimistic about rice :)

The dreaded keto diet.
Some months ago, following a blood test I was advised by the doctor that I was pre-diabetic. At that point, after some research, I decided to follow a keto diet (not easy, as I am a vegetarian, but possible with some thought), and a subsequent blood test found my blood sugar within the normal range again, waheeey. I did lose a lot of weight on the keto diet, so have stuck with it, although I no longer need to. When I discovered konjac fettuccine and it was a win, win as it has very low carbs and calories. It does nor really have much of a taste, but when mixed in with a sauce is perfectly acceptable. It is slightly more chewy than normal pasta, but not too much so. The only downside is that it is fairly expensive compared with normal pasta. Incidentally, when first removed from its watery packaging it does pong a bit, but a good rinse in cold water soon cures that. Another advantage is that it needs very little cooking, it can be "dry" fried, but I tend to put it in with whichever sauce I am making and give it a couple of minutes of heating.

For me, best used as a dessert rice
not sure about anyone else, but the latest batches as of 2025 have no fishy smell at all. All I do is rinse in a sieve to wash off the excess package water then place in a wide frying pan on a high heat, as per instructions. I also then leave it in the pan with the heat turned off to ensure it dries out that bit more, as is my preference. Once cool I mix half with a low carb high protein yogurt (my favourite at the moment is the Pro blueberry muffin flavour). It tastes good and the the rice has a similar texture to dessert rice. I cover the other half in a bowl and refridgerate for later use.If I was using this as a warm rice for curry, I would only cook as much as I wanted for that meal and place the rest in an airtight container in water in the fridge, ready to be prepared the next day.

They're good with a decent sauce.
No real flavour but if you put a decent spag bol sauce on it then it works fine. And it fills you up too if you're on a very low carb diet. I've bought these a few times now.
