Very impressed! I was expecting to have quite a filing session with this, but the edges were perfectly cleanly cut, and the corners were even rounded! There was one small ding on one edge, and a burr on one of the corners, but a few strokes of a file took care of that quickly. The plate was smooth and flat. No pitting, rough spots, lumps, bumps or scratches--I was not expecting such quality. After degreasing I primed and painted it and it looks perfect!

Minor deburring was required, a few sharp edges or burrs but nothing that wasn't simple enough to remove with a metal file or sandpaper. These steel plates worked perfectly for my application which saved me a considerable amount of time trying to make other steel plates I bought off the shelf which were incompatible (had holes in areas I could not have holes). Having to custom order 4" x 4" x 3/16" steel plates would have cost a lot more than this, and I still would have had to finish machine the parts on top of that additional custom/cut cost.The tolerances of the cut edges, which appear to be laser cut, were within .001" to .002" of nominal (3.999" to 4.001" max range, most within .001" of nominal). Normally I don't buy stock/raw material from Amazon because it can be considerably more expensive the local metal shops, but this was a unique case where it was already to net shape on the outside profile, and were readily machined for the internal geometry I needed to cut.

Steel, hard rolled, rust resistant coating. Yep it works in a pizza oven and probably 1000 other things.

Fast and perfect. Well packaged and preserved.

Worked great as a replacement umbrella stand base. Just drilled a few holes and bolted it down.
