Columbia Women's Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Amped Hiking Boot

I normally wear size 8 in shoes. I read a lot of reviews prior to this purchase, which made me think I needed to get half a size larger (which I’m glad I purchased). I went hiking in July everyday, from 2 to 5 hours at a time in multiple areas, including Providence Canyon State Park (all trails), Rainbow Falls and Turtleback Trailhead, Gorges State Park, Moore Cove Falls, Looking Glass Falls, Graveyard Fields Loop trail, and lots of Geocaching.These were my first pair of hiking boots, I brought my regular trail shoes just in case, but didn’t even need them!I wore hiking socks (which are thicker than normal socks) and the comfort was still there with normal feet temperature, no crazy sweating or blisters. I will definitely recommend anyone to try these ESPECIALLY when there are so many options out there and the price for these are great too! Almost forgot, these are great with water, I stepped into so many puddles and streams, these were still intact and no wet feet either. They was a bit stiff at first time use (a day before) but wore them around the house to break them in while I was packing for my trip, that's all it took.Let’s just say, I am extremely happy with my purchase and will try and get my kids a pair as well.

Beautiful color boot and laces match well. This is my first pair of hiking boots. I think I hiked/walked 20+ miles in 4 1/2 days. Some of the hiking was rough. These boots held up well. I thought I had on normal sneakers they were so comfortable. Walked in small water puddles so nothing but sole was in the water. I can't say whether or not I would have had wet feet if I went in deeper. Wore a pair of wool socks and feet were toasty. Plenty of room in the boot. Ordered my normal shoe size. Weight is good. Sole is super anti-skid. Hiking over lava in Iceland was easy wearing these boots. Time will tell how they hold up.

Amazing!! Bought these for a hike in Washington. After walking around downtown for 3 days I was worried about the hike. My feet were sore, calves, ankles in pain. But when I wore these boots for the hike with the excellent support in ankles & overall support & comfort, they made all the aches go away! We walked thru a little water & the repelled the water too!! I’m so glad I bought these & a great price to boot!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I initially ordered these because they could be delivered within 24 hours, had good reviews and I was on my way to Glacier National Park. I had mistakenly left my comfortable worn in hiking boots at my friend’s house and needed boots within 24 hours. Needless to say, I was expecting a lot of blisters with new boots.The first day we hiked about 13 miles and I couldn’t believe it, my feet felt great. Over the next four days we continued with significant hiking, including in Logan’s pass where it was very snowy. Again the boots were amazing.I often have trouble finding comfortable shoes, not sure why since I don’t have wide or narrow feet but for whatever reason these boots went hiking with me for over 50 miles, and my feet were never uncomfortable, nor did I get any blisters.I highly recommend these boots! Would give them more stars if possible. I only do reviews when something is either really good or really bad. These are great!

These are so cute and seemed like they would be so comfortable. Sadly, I listened to some reviews I saw and sized up. I’m usually an 8 and sometimes 8.5, got me a bunion so tried the 8.5 wide. Super roomy in the toe box but my heel lifts significantly. Not sure if it’s because of the wide, but an 8 wide would probably be perfect for me. Extra sad because I ordered on sale and they won’t do size exchange, so hopefully they will go on sale again sometime :(

Purchased for my daughter for a hiking trip. She loved them and wore them when we were hiking. They were not hard to break in. But two downfalls I think... 1. they get dirty fast since they are light in color (she choose this color) 2. they are only water resistant NOT waterproof - and they do take awhile to dry when they do get wet.

Love these!! I am new to hiking and wanted to find something that was more in between a sneaker and a hiking boot. They are super comfy and give great ankle support without being too bulky. If you are wanting to keep these clean for longer, I would suggest spraying them with some type of protectant as the suede does pick up dirt and stains easily. I sized up half a size as some people recommended because your feet will swell a little if you're hiking / walking long distances

Solid boot for the price. So far they seem comfortable but probably wouldn’t work for those who need a wide shoe. Definitely water proof - been walking in puddles to test out and feet stay perfect fly dry.
