Donโt be dissuaded, this is a fantastic work table.
Some people are having trouble with this table so here are some tips, because I find it to be fantastic for daily work, and it allows me to make jewelry comfortably from my recliner, as you can see. Firstly youโre looking at a right side table. Mine did not slide under far enough to reach the base of my recliner as shown in the third photo. But this was easily fixed by adding a mere10 pound dumbbell to the back of the base. I keep the heavier items on top of the support column for the table, but even if I wanted to put them on the end, itโs a remarkably sturdy table. I have knocked into this thing so many times and it has not tipped over, as long as I have that dumbbell on the base. Raising and lowering it can be a little tricky, but the best suggestion I can give is to make sure you keep the table top completely perpendicular to the floor, otherwise it will not go up and down smoothly. Some might go easier than others but when assembling this I managed to lose the instructions under the chair and I accidentally yanked the table top right out of the support column, and it took me a good 20 minutes to get it back in. DONโT DO THAT! I had tried to follow a video made by a similar table sold on Amazon, but the construction is not the same. Be careful when you stand up, especially if your recliner is a rocker, because you can accidentally knock your drink off if youโve pulled your table close to the arm. That actually hasnโt happened more than once though because as I said, itโs a very sturdy table. I added a non-slip rubber mat to the top of mine which I cut out after chalking the edges, then laying the mat down on top, and cutting on the outline. And lastly, I put a towel over the arm of my chair just to protect it, because there is a small nut attaching the table top to the arm, and even though itโs not sharp it will definitely scratch the leather over time. Hope this helps.

Very useful, just what I needed.
Iโve had this set up by the couch for almost a year and itโs a great table. Sturdy, quiet, easy to move. I sprayed some lubricant on the parts that rub together, attached a couple small baskets to the outer edge, and have been happy with this purchase.

The good and the bad
Two issues and two compliment. The compliments are the ease of assembly and functionality. The issues. The table surface is absolutely smooth versus the statement that it is textured in the description of the surface. My second issue appears to be a manufacturing problem as the band around the edge of the table top extends above the surface of the table.

Excellent Recliner Table!
In order to use this with a powered lift chair, I separately ordered three 4mm thick by 100mm wide stainless steel engraving rounds (essentially scrap steel, with the circle width is to disburse the chair weight a bit more). The chair and table are on a hardwood floor. The base metal is roughly 4mm thick, giver or take a fraction for variances in its paint. The engraving rounds keep the lift chair level, sitting under three of the chairโs legs. With our table placement for lift clearance, only one chair leg is sitting on the table base. Our elderly family member is able to use the table to do Sudoku books, play solitaire, eat meals as needed, and is incredibly happy with it.

Serious Design Flaws the Mfgr Doesn't Address or Warn About
Just 'Ok' nothing more... 3-stars as an Adjustable Height Table/Tray for the following reasons. Take note that 1-side of your chair will be sitting on the steel floor plate, while the other side remains on the floor. You should raise the other side to match the height if you are using this on a lift chair, if you don't you significantly risk damaging the screw drive mechanism that raises & lowers your chair...The chair absolutely should be level on any up/down powered chair, if its not, serious damage can and probably will occur. As soon as we set our chair up on this 'Adjustable Tray Assembly', I placed a level across its two arms and saw the chair was extremely out of level. I used two heavy duty 'stacked' sliders under each of the 2-legs opposite the floor plate - which made the chair level, but is not a permanent fix. Table Tray is adjustable in up/down height but it is 'sticky' and takes some effort to lower it, especially if you are already sitting. If you are an elderly lady or a slightly handicapped male with a bad arm be aware of this. Also be sure to choose which side you want this tray to be mounted on to swing. I really think they should have run a steel plate all the way across the front and only 1/2 the distance toward the back of the chair for added stability (but definitely not underneath a rear leg as it is now). For the cost, I think its borderline as far as being worth it, just be aware of these drawbacks. We're purchasing a 1/4" steel plate 10" wide by 24" long to place under both legs on the opposite side so the chair sits permanently stable on all 4-legs. the doubled floor sliders are definitely not going to last very long. Seems like we spent a lot of money only to have to spend more $$ to make it work the way it should have been built. One more issue, the vinyl edging applied all the way around the tray sticks up higher than the tray surface, and the edging is VERY SHARP, so if you tend to rest your arm hand on the dge as I do, you will not be happy or satisfied about this condition. I intend to take a single edge razorblade and trim the backside and 1/2 of each side...Jeeez, for the cost of this unit, we are practically re-building it to work the way it should from the Mfgr! Again...just be aware of what you're buying and be prepared to spend some addl $$ + TIME + FRUSTRATION to make it work properly.

Pleasantly surprised
This table solved a Litany of problems I've been having. It has made me more independent, as I am Mobility challenged. It's been years since I've been able to sit at a regular table to eat food. I always have to eat in my lap and I have a terrible time with trays. I am able to swing this to the perfect spot in order to eat, drink, use my phone and tablet comma. I use a sticky mat to keep things from sliding off, including a small box of things I keep on the table permanently, medications, Etc. The table does swing a full 360 Degrees all the way around and the weight of my chair holds the metal platform in place. There is no fear of it tipping because the metal plate is so large that even when my chair shifts around a bit there is no way it will shift off of the metal tray. I have searched far and wide for something this flexible. The height is also adjustable and is low enough for me, which is typically a very hard to find. Most tables are much higher. I am 5'4 and this suits me perfectly. It is also very easy to Pivot forward and back. Therefore getting up is not a huge chore. Being able to move this table on my own has freed up so much Independence. I am incredibly thankful to this company. The table is even large enough that I can have coffee or breakfast with someone else.

good heavy duty table
I am happy the table is made in a heavy duty manner; Heavy steel base, heavy steel square with the piston inside. The fake wood top is even heavy as well, with laminate on both sides, surrounded by a plastic edge that just barely gives you a lip for things to not roll off. The package is heavy though, you will need the help of someone to bring the box inside, and probably to put it in place once assembled. I am not happy that the product shipped without any tools to finish assembly, not even the crappy tools you sometimes get. I have the screw driver needed, but not the wrenches. I have some pliers, but only needlenose, not the sort you need to finish tightening the bolts. It should have a warning about that, or more prominently written, as I missed it. If you bump the table the wrong way, or push up from the bottom purposely, the table will rise on its own. You will have to sit up and put some weight over the pole while pulling on the handle to get it back down. It is a nice feature knowing i cant get it stuck on me. The heavy plate bottom with "magazine rack" fits under my adjustable bed support frame snuggly with the addition of my needlenose pliers wedged into the less than quarter inch height left over. That magazine rack is a poor design meant to keep the pole from rubbing against the furniture. I wish they just put the pole in a tube. Anyone that uses a lift chair, and needs a table, isnt going to find the magazine rack very convenient. I planned on getting the neighbor to just remove most of the "magazine rack" with his sawzall, but the steel is too thick to do that. It would need to be cut off with a torch, too much trouble. For my particular application, not for a chair, i wish I had got the right handed version, even though i use if on my left side. Where I put the base, so it doesnt interfere with getting up and down, leaves part of the table too close to the head of my bed and leaves it unable to fully get close to me. Something strange you should know. When the table is 90 degrees with the base, the table is pretty level. At all other angles with varying uniformity, the table is canted front to back. To the point where i worry about leaving a drink on it when I have to push the table away, as it might spill if too full. I checked the base, it has nothing to do with my application, the base is the same the whole time, it has something to do with the pole (maybe). Overall I am happy with it, and would buy it again. I even recommended it to my neighbor, for convenience in his living room with his kids taking high school at home now. Just keep in mind, if you dont have the proper chair, it needs something to wedge in there so the full weight of your furniture is on it.

Will not work for us, and the vendor won't respond - Want to return
We purchased a new dual recliner sofa. Like most people, we use our laptops and tablets while relaxing in the living room. Our previous tables did not work with the new sofa due to clearance issues. We saw these and noticed they were designed for lift chairs and other moving furniture. That was the type of clearance we needed for our sofa. Ordered 2 of them, and when they arrived, I opened and assembled 1 of them to see if they would work. The product would not work with our furniture. I attempted to contact Amazon for a return, but as I didn't click every single link on the product page, I didn't see that they were non-refundable/returnable. It was not obvious to us that this was the case. I sent an email to the vendor on their page as requested and have not heard back from them. I'm sitting here with $350 worth of tables that I cannot use. I would love to return them.

Worth the money.
Purchased for an elderly person for use with a lift chair. She loves it! A bit pricey, but it is well constructed and very sturdy. In the end, it is worth the money.
