Nice beefy EDC
I'm not allowed to carry a knife that has a blade longer than 3 inches at work. That was brought to my attention when a supervisor saw me using my Blur's 3 1/2 inch blade to cut some pallet straps. Wanting to be compliant, I picked up a Dividend, which I really like also but I was worried that the blade wouldn't be tough enough to stand up to my abuse. Then I saw the Spline. I love the lines of this knife. Sharpens easily and keeps an edge fairly well. I ended up putting a paracord lanyard on so I don't have to reach in my pocket at all to get to the knife. I also like that this knife has some heft to it. It really feels and preforms like a work knife, and for that reason it has become my everyday carry. The only drawback to this knife, in my opinion, is that the handle seems a little slick at times. Another reason for the lanyard. Overall, A great knife at a great price.

YOU WANT THIS KNIFE
This is a sturdy, slim, well built EDC knife. It’s a great value for the price, which is why this is the second time I’ve bought it (I took the awesome deep carry pocket clip off and added it to a Kershaw Link, now I have a spare Spline!). The high hollow grind on this thin blade makes it a perfect slicer, and it comes razor sharp right out of the box. The handle is well designed and the ergonomics are superb- the deep finger groove coupled with the long flipper/guard ensures that your hand will not slip up onto the blade. With a blade under 3”, it’s more acceptable (I won’t say “legal”, you need to check your local laws for that answer) in many municipalities with strict knife restrictions across the US. FANTASTIC knife!

Perfect EDC
Frame lock is tight. Nice heft in a compact design. Flipper is smooth. Not sure if it has bearings or the more typical nylon washers in the pivot. Clip keeps the knife deep in pocket. Aside from the blade's edge, everything is rounded off. No sharp edges or corners anywhere. With a 2.9" blade, it's pretty much legal even in the most stringent locales. The only catch is that it is assisted open. So be aware of outdated local laws.

Great all around knife.
Just what I was looking for in a knife, useful on weekends and as an edc!..(except one thing. It is a tip up carry knife and the flipper catches on the "holster" that I use for my knife.). The knife has some weight to it and I liked the design of the blade. For me, it's the perfect size for an EDC (under 4 inches closed because I don't need to flash a machete to open a box).. I was really looking forward to owning this knife, but it's still just a little big and heavy for the pocket, and, like I say, It didn't work in my holster which is where I like my knife.. If you like the tip -up design in a knife that is handy in any situation, then this knife is surely a winner. I didn't take away any stars because. like I say, it's a great all around knife - it just didn't work in my particular holster.

Finish is awesome. Only thing that keeps it from getting 5 ...
Ordered one of these expecting mediocre quality given one of the reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. Blade is centered perfectly, no play, and opens very well. Finish is awesome. Only thing that keeps it from getting 5 stars is the clip, which doesn't actually allow the fabric of a jean pocket to go all the way into the clip (because there is no detent on the frame where the clip mounts, so the folded over part of the clip (which screws into the knife frame) stands proud of the frame just enough to catch on the fabric, keeping it from seating all the way down. When I have time, I may pull the clip off and try to grind a ramp into the portion of the clip that screws to the knife frame to see if that alleviates the problem. Otherwise, knife is great.

Great knife, with a flaw...
I have been a fan of Kershaw knives for years. Serious quality and bang for the buck and the Speedsafe assisted opening takes one handed use to the next level. And this knife has all that. The one thing I did not think about is the position of the pocket clip. It is not attached on the hinge end of the handle like so many of the Kershaw's that I have, putting the flipper in an awkward position when taking the knife from your pocket. But I can work through that. What bothers me more is the clip puts the knife hinge down, so if the blade happens to open slightly, there is a nice sharp point and knife edge to get passed when trying to get the knife in or out of your pocket. It actually nicked me good the other day as I was trying to put the knife in my front right pocket while getting the pocket clip outside the pocket to secure it. Never had that happen with any of my other Kershaw's, and I have several. Very disappointed, because in ever other way it is the quality I have come to expect. Needless to say it's not my EDC anymore...

The new edc
This is a great little knife. Yet, there is nothing little about it. It has a nice kick when opened with the open assist (the only way). Beefy, pretty sharp out of the box, deep pocket clip. So worth the $21. It’s $23 now but get one if you’re thinking about it. The new edc

This little blade is perfect for my EDC collection
This little blade is perfect for my EDC collection. Have carried it a lot in the past few months and it has performed great. Came sharp and deploys very quickly. Just enough handle for a 31/2 finger grip but feels very comfortable. Slim profile makes the knife disappear in the pocket. Plenty of bang for your buck.
