How is the Colby Ultimate different from the Colby Permanent valve stem?

The Ultimate is about 1/2 inch shorter, a low profile metal valve stem that sits low on standard wheels with less to snag on rocks or brush. For deeply recessed valve holes, choose the Colby Permanent.

Do I need to remove the tire to do this valve stem replacement?

No. It installs from the outside of the wheel in about 1 minute, with no tire removal and no broken bead. Tighten with a 7/16 inch socket or wrench to 10-15 inch lb, and stop if the gasket starts to spin.

Will these ATV valve stems fit my wheels?

They fit most standard .453 wheel openings, from ATVs, UTVs and riding mowers to trucks, trailers and farm equipment. Tubeless tires only. A TPMS sensor can’t attach, and some motorcycle stock wheels are not compatible.

Is this a permanent fix or just for emergencies?

Permanent. These heavy duty tire valve stems replace rubber valve stems for good. Fit them at home before you ride, and the short, strong brass stem helps protect against a valve stem break on the trail.

What are these metal valve stems made of, and where are they made?

360 brass bar stock sealed with high-tech urethane, 20X stronger than standard valves. Machined in Missouri and assembled in Arkansas. Each valve stem kit includes 2 valves, enough for two wheels.
