Is this tool for rivet nuts or regular pop rivets?

It is for installing rivet nuts, nutserts, and threaded inserts. It is not a pop rivet gun. Use it to add strong threaded mounting points to sheet metal, frames, trailers, campers, boats, and DIY metal projects.

Which mandrel and rivet nut sizes are included?

The kit covers common metric and SAE sizes, including M4, M5, M6, M8, M10 and SAE sizes from 6-32 to 3/8-16. Always match the mandrel, rivet nut thread, and drilled hole size before installation.

Can I use it with a cordless drill?

Yes. It works with a power drill or 1/4 in. ratchet wrench. For small sizes or first-time use, start at low speed and low torque, then test on scrap metal to avoid over-pulling the rivet nut.

How do I avoid stripping threads or breaking mandrels?

For small rivet nuts, start with low drill torque and increase gradually. Match the mandrel and nut size, keep mandrel threads clean, hold the tool straight, stop once the nut is set, and add light thread lubricant if needed.

Can I use stainless steel rivet nuts?

For best results, use aluminum or carbon steel rivet nuts. Stainless steel rivet nuts need much higher force and may increase mandrel wear or breakage. If you must use stainless, test first and use low speed and controlled torque.
