It did work for the umbrella but the hardware was of poor quality as is typical for Chinese hardware, and no indication as to the drill bit size. I guess 10mm but who in the US has metric masonry bits?

At first, I felt it was a little pricey and was concerned the small base would make it top-heavy. But I was pleasantly surprised—it’s much more solid than it looks. I read a few complaints about the included screws, so I used my own lag bolts and secured it directly to the deck. Two months later, it’s holding up strong with no signs of weakness. What seemed like a gamble turned out to be a solid buy.

Didn't work for market size umbrella. Gave it to my daughter. She loves it. Not for market size umbrellas.

This umbrella stand is very sturdy fir it's size and was exactly what I was looking for. The length of the tube gives it alot of stability and the fact that it has a drain hole in the base is a plus. I mounted this stand directly onto the decking of my balcony and it has worked great.
