The mill is an efficient add on to my mixer but be warned the milling takes a while to process enough for a loaf of bread, so plan accordingly. The taste of the bread with freshly milled wheat buds is superior to bought milled flour. I have read that bread milled is better for you with essential vitamins and minerals present whereas milled flour has fewer of them. You can buy mills separately, but it will you cost more. Cleaning isn't too rough - tap on the mill and most of the unground buds fall right out.

Came with everything needed to change out gear

This mill doesn’t grind wheat berries nearly well enough to make decent bread, etc even on the finest setting. I’ve been putting the freshly ground wheat into my high speed blender to get it closer to a flour consistency, but it’s a ridiculous affair. It also makes an awful mess unless you set up a tall bag to catch the outflow right at the mill. I’m very disappointed in it all around. I would call it expensive junk since I let my return window close while trying to refine this mess to no avail.

This grain grinder is cool! I have been able to make my own mill to cook with. It has been useful to have around the kitchen. I am loving how much money this is saving me. :)

The more we do our own baking from scratch, the more we want to do. Our next step was a grain mill. This fits and works great on our kitchenaid mixer. I love being able to grind our own flour. It works great and is adjustable to how fine you want it. This has been a super fun experience for the kids and I. Cleanup is easy too which is a must!
