I bought the HUAWEI B636 specifically to use in bridge mode, and I can confirm it is working exactly as needed. I’m using it with my Unifi UDM SE as a backup WAN connection, and it successfully provides a public IP - tested and working fine on both Three and EE networks. I upgraded from the HUAWEI B535, and this model is a noticeable step up. The B535 is an LTE Cat 7 router (300 Mbps DL / 100 Mbps UL), while the B636 is LTE Cat 13, supporting up to 400 Mbps download and 200 Mbps upload, delivering stronger carrier aggregation, faster uplinks, and overall better stability under load. While I could have gone for a 5G router, this 4G unit is more than enough for my needs - stable, responsive, and great value. It’s also fully unlocked, so any SIM works out of the box. Highly recommended if you’re after a reliable, bridge-mode-compatible LTE router for Unifi or other dual-WAN setups at home or in a lab environment.

Weird device. The specs say 400mb DL and 200mb UL but I am getting 30-60mb DL and 400mb UL from various BB line speed test sites. Not sure what’s that all about? I Mainly purchased this unit as a backup for my BB line just in case it fails. To that end I inserted a 3 data sim which seems to work well. It does allow me to surf the internet and stream online TV services at the same time with no buffering. Setup was easy and it took minutes for me to get connected. Access to the units setting is via web page you log into via a web browser. Not sure how unit would fair with long term use as for now its back in its box awaiting the day its required But it certainly works very well in my area so I definitely recommend this unit.

Great speed. I can stream movie in high fidelity on projector without any interruption. I usually dont write reviews. This works well for a small home. the device is small enough to carry around between homes and countries. highly recommend.

Huawei CPE5 B636 This router was returned as it didn't have VoLTE calling as it was described as offering when purchased. Current listings have been corrected as far as I can see. A shame as the WIFI signal was exceptional and the device performed brilliantly in all other respects. A small and very light 4G router which has provision for external antennas, though these weren't necessary as I'm lucky in having a strong-ish Vodafone 4G signal which consistently produced speeds around 50 - 60 Mbps, peaking at about 100mbs. One drawback is lack of QoS provision in the interface. I stream internet Radio which sometimes needs protecting from simultaneous heavy LAN traffic. Overall, a very neat and impressive router. The RJ11 phone socket is not backed up by the provision of VoLTE which would have allowed my SIM card to be used for calls and which I intended for a landline replacement house phone. Without this, the socket is only really of use for VoIP as normal phone calls would use 3G, now being switched off. However, this feature does work if you have a SIM that still offers 3G. The device switches down to 3G to make a call and this worked with an O2 SIM. The call quality was poor, though. This router offers WIFI6, though I couldn't test this as I have no device with this feature.

Ich nutze den HUAWEI 4G CPE 5 (B636) jetzt schon eine ganze Zeit und bin wirklich sehr zufrieden. Gerade wenn man keinen festen DSL- oder Glasfaseranschluss hat oder flexibel bleiben möchte, ist dieser LTE-WLAN-Router eine richtig gute Lösung. Die Einrichtung ist kinderleicht: Nano-SIM rein, einschalten, fertig. Innerhalb weniger Minuten war bei mir alles einsatzbereit – ganz ohne technisches Gefummel. Der Router baut schnell eine stabile Verbindung auf und liefert bei mir konstant gutes Internet. Die angegebenen bis zu 400 Mbit/s sind natürlich abhängig vom Netz, aber für Streaming, Home Office und normales Surfen reicht die Leistung locker aus. Ein großer Pluspunkt ist Wi-Fi 6. Mehrere Geräte gleichzeitig nutzen das WLAN problemlos, ohne dass es spürbar langsamer wird. Smartphones, Laptops, Smart-TVs – alles läuft stabil und zuverlässig. Auch die Reichweite ist ordentlich, selbst durch mehrere Wände hindurch. Das Design ist schlicht und modern, der Router steht unauffällig in der Wohnung und arbeitet angenehm leise. Die Oberfläche zur Verwaltung ist übersichtlich, sodass man Einstellungen schnell findet, auch ohne tiefere Technikkenntnisse. Was mir besonders gefällt: die Zuverlässigkeit. Kein ständiges Neustarten, keine Abbrüche – einmal eingerichtet, läuft das Ding einfach. Genau das erwarte ich von einem Router. Fazit: Ein leistungsstarker, stabiler und unkomplizierter LTE-Router mit modernem WLAN-Standard. Ideal für flexibles Internet zu Hause oder im Büro. Für mich eine klare Empfehlung und absolut verdiente 5 Sterne.

Sí quieres independencia inalámbrica, sin limites de datos y conectar tus dispositivos de forma que no tengas que permanecer con tu instalador de fibra, yo lo utilizo en una habitación compartida de un bloque de piso que tan sólo hay una conexión, mediante Wifi y encima tu caseso la contrató con tan sólo 400 Mbs y sois muchos los que os conectáis, yo opté por este LTE. Se configura como quieras y además tiene un puerto WAN y WiFi dual. Pero lo mejor es que con una simple microsim LTE en dual te da velocidades de hasta 600 Mbs. Pero además, si lo colocas cerca de la smartv o de una impresora o un decodificador y un SSD de gran capacidad con puerto LAN, todos ellos, los conectas a los cuatro puertos LAN por cable y aún con poca cobertura en tu zona, como se conecta a 4G+ a través de una única micro SIM LTE, que le puedes desconectar hasta a 1 GB de velocidad de datos por cable RJ45. Es el que mejor relación calidad precio tiene y se configura muy fácilmente. Puedes abrir puertos, bloquear dispositivos no autorizados, cambiar de plan de datos cuando quieras y sin permanencia. Aquí, cuando se conectan las TV al mismo tiempo, no les funciona bien, se relentiza la Wifi y mucho más. Yo tengo contratada una tarifa con un operador de pago por consumo y la factura es tres veces más económica que cualquier fibra que te ofrezcan. ¿Yo me conecto más rápido que cualquier WiFi. La red 2,4 GHz está súper saturada y a la 5G no se conecta en casi ningún sitio porque están copando los WAN de casi todas las operadoras. Pero a la red 4G o 4G+, no se conecta casi nadie. Por último, con mi plan de datos con éste router, veo películas hasta en 8K. Para el exterior llevo otro pequeño, pero ese lo reseñaré cuando le toque y puedes tener con la red dos tarjetas duales, con el mismo plan y a 4G+. Huawei tiene mucho más modelos para tener más cobertura, pero si es para tí, sólo con éste es más que suficiente y el más barato. Y lo mejor, nadie se conecta si no quieres y además puedes bloquear dispositivos mediante la MAC, aunque sea aleatoria ya que él siempre se conecta a la que utiliza el otro dispositivo por primera vez y en cuanto se intente conectar con otra MAC, detecta el nombre de la configuración del dispositivo y ese cortafuegos nunca falla. Y es súper fácil de configurar. Un saludo amigo. No envío foto porque está instalado escondido tras la Smartv, para ocultar los cables. Y si ocultas el SSID, ni sabrán los que convivan contigo. Sí usas la Wifi, le pones un nombre fácil de recordarás y una contraseña fácil de recordar y con algunos caracteres, especiales pero corta y en cuanto la actives en tu teléfono móvil, eso sí manualmente, la recordará y te aparece en tu lista de Wifi automáticamente, para siempre. Yo estoy muy satisfecho con él y puedes resetearlo de fábrica cuando quieras, pero si activas el pin de la tarjeta móvil, añades un nivel más de seguridad. Eso sí, cada vez que lo apagues, hagas un reset o lo desconectes, tendrás que acordarte del pin o del Puck si te equivocas más de tres veces. Mirad más en Amazon, casi todos los venden ellos y hasta la tarjeta sim, con un plan inicial. Yo tengo uno que pago por uso, sin permanencia ni límite de datos. También lo he adquirido en Amazon. Pero ese ya lo reseñaré. Perdonad la extensión de la reseña, pero es que es una de las mejores compras que he hecho a Amazon y eso que soy un novato en compras por internet, pero su equipo técnico es buenísimo y la atención al cliente, magnífica.
