Another Quality Kitchenaid product
I want to preface this with my belief that you don't buy a new item if your current item can still be used and KitchenAid products generally last. I purchased the combo package of a grater with storage/measuring cup and a Manual Can Opener. First, the Grater: I may have purchased the grater this was to replace in the early to mid 1980's. Certainly no later than 1990! This grater, with the hard plastic collar and top handle seems like it will never collapse in on itself, as my old one finally did. It's slightly larger overall and, while space is always tight in a well used kitchen, it stores its own measuring cup/covered container, so I'll forgive it. The container, with it's own seal, is very handy as I no longer have to grate onto a paper towel and then transfer that to a measuring cup. I could say that it stops one from wasting cheese when you grate too much but the "extra" was always consumed by kids, dogs & hubby wandering by and pinching a bit here & there... well, not the dogs, everyone generously shared their snagged bits with them, woof woof ๐ ๐ The Manual Can Opener: I am blown away by the ease of use and quality of this product. I have an opener that never caught the can edge properly, needed excessive pressure to hold the handles tightly together and usually needed repeated repositioning every time I needed to open a can! As my arthritis has worsened, I often needed someone else to help and watched THEM have the same issues. Anyway, when my grater collapsed, I saw the package with both and ordered it immediately. This opener is extremely easy to use, it doesn't open very wide but, I placed it on a can, gave a little squeeze and easily turned the handle just a couple of times before the lid dropped into the mandarin oranges! I was flabbergasted at the ease of use because I've been using the old one for several years, often got pinched and would just give up on trying to get a lid entirely off. We would pry the can open with something else until we could scoop out the contents. Luckily, we don't really open many cans and, until the mandarin oranges stopped having "pull tops" it was rare to NEED an opener. I'm not cheap, I AM frugal. I don't know where the old opener came from but, I know KitchenAid. For well over 35 years, I've owned a (refurbished) KitchenAid Mixer including many of the attachments and several other KitchenAid products. Every item with their name on it has provided years of service and they stand behind their products. This package was more expensive than most of the others and that's a consideration for some but I'm confident that I'll save money in the long run. Spend a couple of extra dollars now and you won't have to replace the items as often.

Sturdy, Reliable, and Easy to Clean: A Great Box Grater!!
This stainless steel box grater is impressively solid and built to last. Each side features a different grating patterns (Coarse, Medium & Fine), and one side even includes a slicing option, making it a versatile tool for everything from cheese to cabbage to other veggies. What stands out most is the sturdiness. The construction feels durable, and the top handle gives you excellent control while grating. It stays steady on the counter and feels secure in your hand no wobbling or slipping. Cleaning is also a breeze. Even though itโs dishwasherโsafe, I prefer to handโwash it. A quick scrub with warm, soapy water moving in the opposite direction of the grating motion gets it clean in seconds. A nice bonus is the included 3โcup container that fits perfectly at the base to catch whatever youโre grating. It even comes with a lid so you can store your shredded ingredients for later use without hunting for another container. Overall, this is a fantastic, longโlasting kitchen tool that performs exactly as youโd hope. A solid purchase all around.

Perfect for grating frozen butter for biscuit making
I recently started using frozen butter in my biscuit recipe. I tried cutting it up in small pieces but that just made a mess. This grater works like a champ! I give it a light spray of oil so the butter doesn't stick... and it shreds a whole stick of frozen butter in less than a minute. The oil spray Alsop works well when grating cheese. I'm on a kick where I don't buy any processed foods.... this kitchen gadget has made my cooking much easier. It's sharp... big enough to get some real work done. I use the detachable storage container for shredding carrots, potatoes...etc... works great and cleanup is easy. Highly recommend

Durable, sharp grater with a few flaws (in my opinion)
This grater is of good quality: durable sharp, light weight. It is so sharp that unlike our old grater, it does not mush the food but rather cuts precise (grated) slices of food, even on the smaller grate size. My husband doesn't like this because when grating ginger, it does not extract the juices as well, but it seems fine to me. It is also compact and therefore easy to store with the plastic cup fitting upside down inside the grater (only for the purpose of storage). I also appreciate that the sides are all one piece of metal without crimped edges on the walls for food to get stuck in, unlike other graters I've owned in the past. I removed a star because I was hoping the small plastic cup for catching food would fit more intuitively into the bottom of the grater while grating food. I was also hoping that the rubber at the bottom of the grater would help prevent the grated food from getting stuck there because my old grater has just a crimped edge on the bottom and food is impossible to remove. However the food just gets stuck in the rubber. But overall it is a very nice grater that I'm happy using. Maybe my husband will like it more after it dulls.

The Ferrari of graters.
O_M_G....I prepare all my food and this is like going from a Kia to a Ferrari! Sturdy construction, excellent handle, multiple sides to taylor your every grating need. I had (still have) a basic generic grater and this Kitchenaid puts it to shame! Please do yourself a favor and purchase. I garantee you will NOT regret this purchase.

Works Great!
This is a very nice grater. Iโve only used apples on it so far and I havenโt used the reservoir but I donโt doubt Iโll enjoy that feature too.

Should have bought one of these ages ago.
My old standby grater, in one of the enclosed photos with the new one, finally cracked the plastic frame. I can't say how old it was because I've had it as long as I can remember, so it was at least 20. I have looked at various types of replacement over the years but never bothered to get something newer, and more flexible. Now that I had no choice, I decided on this KitchenAid one because it comes with a nice covered container to catch and hold whatever I happen to be grating or shredding on it. So far, I've used it to shred a couple of pounds of mozzarella for pizza and pasta dishes, to grate some parmigiano-reggiano, to slice cucumber and to shred a carrot. It accomplished all these tasks with no difficulty at all. It has been very easy to wash up by hand, with some soapy dish water and a sponge. I would assume it is dishwasher safe, but as I do not have one, I can't give any valid comment on that. The included container has kept shredded mozza beautifully fresh for 2 days, I have no idea if it will keep longer than that. Overall, for the price, it was a great purchase and one I should have made years ago. KitchenAid can always be trusted for quality, whether you are getting a major appliance like the range my new grater is sitting on in these pics, or something as small as a plastic cutting board. I expect to get many years of service from this grater. One caveat, however! As with a mandolin, I advise wearing a cut proof glove on your hand that is doing the grating/shredding as this could make very short work of your knuckles or fingertips if you are not careful!

A sturdy grater on the large side
This is a very sturdy cheese grater that comes with a container to grate your cheese in. It is rather large compared to standard size ones but fits in my cupboard ok. Grating cheese directly in the container can be a bit messy as quite a lot land on the outside of the grater so I have learnt to place the grater on top of Kitchen paper. It is also very good for grating carrots, celeriac and slicing potatoes. And the container is really useful to store left over Parmesan in the fridge. All in all I am very happy with it ๐
