Q: Can this be hung both vertically and horizontally and look good?

I have hung mine vertically and it looks greatHelen

Q: What would happen if you used water based markers?

I’m not sure. I have used alcohol based markers, permanent markers and gel pens. I spray hairspray over canvas once completed to set the inks. Go to her website gallery to see what others have used. Make sure they are on canvas and not coloring pages.

Q: how do you get the glue off from the labeling on the sides of the art?

I think you need to ask for a replacement. It should be sealed in plastic. When you open it the cardboard just slips out.

Q: Would colored pencils work well with this canvas??

I used my prismacolor premier set on the seashell canvas just to experiment and I do not recommend. It looks nice but it will destroy your pencils. I did a matching one with the #coloring markers often suggested with these and it’s much better. So the answer is yes, you can, but you probably shouldn’t.
