I'm loving my Edifier R1700BTs! The sound quality is impressive, and the design is sleek. The bass is deep and rich, and the treble is clear. They're perfect for music, movies, and gaming. The price point is super competitive too! 👍👍👍👍, adding a Edifier T5 subwoofer is a perfect punch

I have to give these a 5. I did some work on my TV room and disconnected my surround sound. Hooked these up as a stop gap with my old Velodyne subwoofer and the sound is amazing coming out of these things. Bluetooth is a super nice touch to easily switch from tv to playing music. I'm a regular guy (not any sort of audiophile) so I cannot speak to the technical abilities of these. Just surprisingly versatile and pleasing to the ears. It fills my small room with very crisp music (room is 12' x 17'). Love these. If you have a sub you can connect all the better. As much as I like these...it makes me curious how awesome the higher end version of these bluetooth Edifier speakers may be. Maybe an unnecessary upgrade in my future for fun.

Bought these for my kids for first sound system to run with a bluetooth turntable and TV setup along with the add-on subwoofer for a bit more low-end. Probably more a 4.5 score for some cabling limitations and issues, but from a "sound" perspective they are the best thing for the price I can imagine. I'm even contemplating dumping my expensive hi-fidelity system for the simplicity and plenty "good-enough" sound they provide. I won't claim they'll make the most discriminating audiophile happy, but it is hard to find any fault sound wise. Set them up for Christmas, streamed some ripped music from my CD collection through my phone/bluetooth and marveled at how good the stereo separation was and how clear and well defined the reproduction was. Played a couple of albums on the turntable and literally shed tears over how nice it was to sit and hear a good stereo staged sound experience once again - something I'd lost track of over the digital era. These won't do if you are trying to run a huge party and anger the neighbors, but for a living room/family room listening experience and simplicity in setup, they create a quite good stereo music experience for a very affordable price with plenty of punch and volume for any use I can think of - more than enough for a big cinematic score, favorite music track, or just streaming tunes from your phone while working around the house - loud enough to hurt your ears if wanted. 4.5 as I say as the remote is needlessly cheap and the wiring limitations (can't connect the two satellites and subwoofer more than 10/12 feet apart or some such thing) is a problem to check out before you buy, but if that isn't a limitation, they are great. I have another Edifier set I use with my computer and quality for the price simply is great. While I'd love a great high end Marantz amp, huge monster cables to my old time favorite Acoustic Research (AR) top-end speakers, bi-amplified and all, at this point my aging ears will really only get an incremental boost from the like and extra $10,000, so simpler and less expensive is actually more than good enough. Powered so no need for a separate amp/receiver, paired with either coax or bluetooth quite good, even, monitor quality (flat soundstage - steady) sound, and accessible in the digital era. Go with an amp and discrete speakers if you have more than 2 or 3 sources, but for a turntable, CD/DVD, and bluetooth phone/tablet streaming, a great setup. Really attractive cabinets too for the price - I liked the angled face for a standard 10/12 foot distance from a usual TV stand height, seemed to position the sound correctly. Disappointed the subwoofer couldn't be in a matching cabinet though, another reason for the 4.5 - nothing to do with sound.

I have read reviews that applaud these speakers for sound, design, and solidity. By "solidity", I mean they're heavy enough to project frequencies, rather than absorb them into the cabinet. And they are rugged enough that you don't worry if you bang them together when unpacking them. Don't run them over with the car but you'll see. They're sturdy. And they do well in the mids and the upper-mid frequency range. Don't get me wrong. They do a fair job on the lows and you could mix a P-bass if you listen carefully. But, to offer a real world example, if you check out the song "Gaia" (James Taylor, Hourglass), there's an interlude where the level dips a few dBs, then rebounds with an added low-end thrust. You won't hear that as the producer intended on the Edifier. Nor on the same album if you go to to the song "Look up from Your Life" (which is good advice), you'll hear on the second or third chorus James Taylor pleading the words in the title. And Jimmy Johnson unleashes an un-Holy rumble you can feel coming up through the floor. Well, these speakers don't do full justice to those whole notes but otherwise what you get is good clarity, almost pristine sound. You won't expect this quality for this sort of money. To be honest, I'd recommend finding an extra $50. If you're lucky you can buy a second-hand Yamaha subwoofer and you won't regret it. If you go this route, note that the Edifier studio monitor includes a special circuit that instructs the subwoofer to contribute only that portion of the frequency spectrum missed by the Edifiers left and right. But if money is tight you'll be pleased with these monitors. They are quality items. My previous speakers cost twice as much ten years ago and I consider the Edifiers an upgrade. Recommended. Tbw
