Statin Drugs Side Effects and the Misguided War on Cholesterol

Possible the best on statins, and I have the background to rate it
I have a website up and spent a couple of months researching the scam of cholesterol and statins. Graveline is possible the best book out there that isn't technical. Several friends have read his books, and like them.Pharma has taken over the education of doctors, and this is one of their 2 biggest scams. Cholesterol is essential for life, lowering it is a way of taking a slow acting poison, like ethanol. Pharma is in the business of treating illnesses and creating markets. I call it tobacco ethics and tobacco science and it brings in a trillion dollars a year in sales. Graveline's book should wake you up, highly recommended

You and your Doctor need to read this book!
Dr. Graveline has written the definitive study on the problems of statin drug use, and his book is invaluable for those who are contemplating taking these dangerous drugs. A must read for lay persons and medical providers! I personally know several persons who had the drug induced dementia and rhabdomyolysis, so his information is correct and essential. Update of November 5, 2019 - This book continues to surprise me with its accuracy, I have met another patient who had personality changes that disappeared with the d/c of Simvastatin, returning her to her old self. Anyone being prescribed statin drugs needs this information, and you won't get it from your cardiologist if he/she is using the "shotgun" approach i.e. "everyone gets this as the so-called Gold Standard of care whether you need it or not". The risks and side effects in many, many cases do not justify using statin drugs as this book clearly shows. Physicians in Europe are more reluctant to prescribe statin drugs, and for good reasons. You are in charge of your own health in partnership with your physician, so check this book out.

Dr Graveline saved me and my husband!
Two years ago, my husband suffered a major psychotic depression and almost ended his life. During the 10 years I had known him, this came as a total shock to me since I had never witnessed him acting this way before. He had always been a happy guy and never showed signs of depression. I had no idea what was happening until I spoke to a friend about his condition and she said to me "Sometimes people act erratically when they have issues with their liver". At that moment, it clicked. I connected his condition with Vytorin, the statin he was taking at the time. One known side effect is liver damage. I started researching statins online and came across Dr Graveline's website. There I read countless complaints about other people suffering from the horrible side effects of statins. Dr Graveline's website saved me since the doctors I had spoken to did not believe me when I told them that the statins may have caused my husband's depression.I just read this book yesterday from cover to cover and I highly recommend it to all who are considering taking this evil drug. Don't do it!! The reason I bought this book is because now my husband wants to go back to taking statins again since he also feels that they did not cause the depression. I am trying to get him to read this book. I felt like the crazy one for believing that the statins caused my husband harm but not anymore. Thank you Dr Graveline!

Caution DANGEROUS DRUG.
I love this book. It has been my guide for a while, this is my second copy. I have Peripheral Neuropathy in my feet and my fingers from taking Lipitor in 1997 for 20 months. This drug was very new then and I believe doctors were unaware of the dangerous side effects this drug has. I have recently had to have my Aortic valve replaced in my heart and am pretty sure that Lipitor also caused this damage way back in 1997 and over the years my heart has got worse. If you are interested in this drug for any reason this is a great book, full of information as Dr. Graveline has also suffered from taking it.

Say NO! to Statins!
Duane Graveline has been collecting reports of statin side effects since his own experience with transient global amnesia. The war on cholesterol is being shown to be misguided because cholesterol is an essential repair substance created in our livers to meet our body's needs when it is injured in some way. Statin side effects usually take time to show up but they can be severe and life-threatening.

Could this explain Alzheimer's epidemic?
This book, written by a doctor mind you (which tells me he has much to lose and little to gain by telling this story), uncovers once again a lot of the myth of statins and what they are actually doing to us. I can't help but wonder if this may be a reason for the recent rise in Alzheimer's. I know I saw a lot of these symptoms with my dad when he was on it. I began to wonder if he was even going senile. I remember how moody and irritable he was and never remembered him having such a temper. If you are into health and/ or getting the real story, READ THIS BOOK.

Statin Drugs
If your physician has put you on a statin drug because it seems to be the current mindset in the medical field, you need to read as much as possible regarding the side effects that drug companies and physicians do not tell you about. Some of these side effects are subtle and creep up on you! If you're over 50, you chalk it up to "getting older." I had some muscle issues, heart palpitations, and just generally feeling sluggish as soon as 2 weeks after I went on a small dosage of Lipitor. After reading this book, I realized that the way I was feeling was not acceptable and probably due to these drugs. If you can get through the medical jargon (not so bad after you get used to it), this is a must-read if you are questioning the wisdom of being on a statin drug and the entire mindset of our medical field on the subject of high cholesterol.

Excellent book on the damage statins can do...
If you are on statins simply to lower your cholesterol then you need to read this book. It may help you understand some of the other side effects you may be suffering as a result of taking them. Most GP's don't understand or know of the side effects of statins as they have relied on the pharmacuetical companies for information. If you are not on statins then you should also read this in case your GP tries to put you on them in the future. I have read several books on statins and cholesterol and now know cholesterol is not the bad thing it is being made out to be. When my GP wanted to put me on statins after my last blood test because my cholesterol was 7.2 IIRC, I said no thanks and suggested she read a number of books to bring her up to speed on statins and cholesterol. Well worth the money.

Very revealing. Makes you wonder who you can trust ...
Very revealing. Makes you wonder who you can trust and who is leaning on who. Should you really be taking statins if you haven't suffered from heart disease or stroke.? If you are taking these you might just benefit from reading this book.

How to Go Nuts On Drug Side-affects.
This book is certainly an eye opener as regards Stain drugs. Being an ex-nurse, 1950-1960, I knew nothing about the side effects of Statins. So if any person sees this statement and they are on Statins then buy this book. You will not regret it.

Very Informative
Good read and very informative. Its quite shocking how we are being pumped full of drugs just to satisfy incomplete statistics.
