Expensive, but much better than the cheap garden lights
A couple of years I purchased a dozen garden lights in a sale at a garden centre. They were cheap, and that was for a reason, they were rubbish, and didn't last. The batteries gave up in a couple of months, and then water started getting into the battery compartment. They finally got chucked in the bin when the plastic stakes went brittle, and just snapped off. These Duracell lights are in a different league, far better built, larger reflectors, more light , and powered by Duracell. The 4 lights come neatly packed in a nice box, and are dead simple to put together. One of the lights is already almost fully assembled, only needing the end of the stake to be pushed in, and the battery installed. The remaining three light can be put together in minutes, and their batteries are already installed, requiring only a plastic tab to be pulled out to complete the circuit. All the batteries supplied were partially charged, but I left the 4 lights out in daylight for several hours before pushing them into the grass along my garden path. At dark they gave more light than all 12 of the cheap lights I had before. They have been on for several hours now and show no sign of dimming. The light dome is bigger than on most garden lights, and they look good on or off.I've learned that buying cheap isnt always a good idea, and if you want your garden llights to last you need to invest in something decent. I think these Duracell lights really fit that bill, and I will be purchasing another set for the other end of my garden. Defininitely recommended.

Looks good
Outside LED garden path lights are very popular but the quality varies greatly so I was really please to try out this set from Duracell. With a quality name I expected a good product and for the most part I was not disappointed. They are really easy to set up but a little care getting them into the ground is called for. Do not put too much force on the top of the unit. It is best if the photo electric cell is angled to slightly to the south. Also the AA cell needs the the little plastic protector pulling out and the photo electric cell needs its cover removing. That's about it but it is all covered in the instructions anyway. The AA cell charges during the day and discharges during the evening with with 4 to 8 hours of light. Winter use is not recommended. My problem is that it is winter and I want to use them but my garden faces north with a big hill at the bottom of it. Also as we live only a few miles south of the Scottish border there is not much charging time during the day.My solution. I don't have one yet hence only 4 stars. 3 stars would have been a bit mean because I'm sure that somewhere they will work really well and look very good. Or I could wait until spring and try again

Well made by a reputable company.
A set of 4 solar lights that will light up a garden path, or illuminate a beautiful flower display. They give a good bright light . They charge even in the reduced light of November. The colour is described as black rust which makes them sound horrible but they are not . They are basically plastic but very sturdy and really will enhance any garden. Also as they come from Duracell there is the reassurance that the batteries will be good and not fail like the cheaper ones on the market or from a very cut price shop .

Good looking from a good brand
These are large solar lamps (about 30cm) in length with a nice long prong to place in soil. They are all plastic (quite light too) but seem sturdy. The important thing is the mechanism, which with good quality solar batteries (supplied) should give good illumination even in the less than bright conditions of UK winter. Easy to assemble and place. Hope they charge well, and initial impressions are positive.

The next best thing to hardwired lights
Seeing these lit up on the first night was quite surprising, they were far more effective than I expected. It seems that the addition of a rechargeable solar battery makes all the difference compared to other solar lights that I've had - delivering a brighter, more reliable performance. The plastic pieces do feel slightly femur when putting these together, but they'll weather better than metal and the overall design is good. The "rusted" effect certainly gives them the appearance of being metal, and they blend into a garden aesthetic nicely. Set-up is simple enough, there's one fully made-up light in the box, with the other three requiring some basic clicking together of the various pieces, and the battery trips removing - a 5-10 minutes max job.Overall, as the title of my review says, these are the next best thing to hardwired lights and a clear step-up from other solar-powered alternatives.

Not good.
Very disappointing. Only needed 2 lights so assembled and put them out. One lasted 2 nights the other 5.Waiting until the current damp spell ends before trying the other 2, but, I’m not hopeful. An expensive mistake.

Duracell Solar LED Aussenleuchte
