A Reliable Power Backup for Home Office and Electronics
I recently purchased the APC Back-UPS BX600C-IN for my home office setup, and after a few weeks of use, I'm quite impressed with its performance. Here's my detailed review of this UPS system. The first thing to note is the compact design of the BX600C-IN. It's small enough to fit under a desk or alongside your PC without taking up much space. The build quality feels sturdy, and the overall look is sleek and unobtrusive. The UPS offers a load capacity of 360W/600VA, which is sufficient for my home office setup, including a desktop PC, monitor, and a few other small peripherals. The three battery-backed and surge-protected Indian power sockets are a thoughtful addition, catering well to the local market needs. One of the standout features for me is the Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR). It handles the frequent voltage fluctuations in my area seamlessly, with a wide input voltage range of 145โ290 volts. The transfer time (10 ms typical, 12 ms maximum) is quick enough to prevent any interruptions or system crashes during power cuts. The backup time varies depending on the load, but I've found it to be quite adequate for my needs. The 1x7.2Ah battery provides around 20 to 75 minutes of backup time, which is enough to save work and safely shut down my equipment. It's also worth noting that the UPS is generator-compatible and works well with low power loads like Wi-Fi routers and DSL modems, which is a plus for a home office setup. The cold start capability is another feature I appreciate. It allows me to power up the load just on the battery, which is useful during long power outages when I need to start my equipment without waiting for the mains power to return. One of the most pleasant aspects of this UPS is its quiet operation. Even during a changeover from mains to generator, the UPS remains silent, which is great as I am sensitive to noise in my workspace. In conclusion, the APC Back-UPS BX600C-IN is a solid choice for anyone looking for a reliable power backup solution for a home office or home electronics. It offers a good balance of features like AVR, sufficient backup time, compact design, and quiet operation, all of which make it a worthwhile investment for protecting your valuable electronics against power interruptions.

Excellent for Low-Power Devices, Quiet Operation & Seamless Power Backup
Iโve been using this UPS for a while now, and overall, itโs a dependable choiceโespecially if youโre looking to power low-wattage devices like an Apple TV, Wi-Fi routers, mesh nodes, or streaming devices. My Ratings: * Portability: 6/10 โ Itโs quite heavy for its size. Once installed, itโs best to leave it in place rather than move it around frequently. * Build Quality: 6/10 โ The enclosure itself is solid and well-made. However, since the power outlets are the most critical part of any UPS, I expected them to feel more premium. They work perfectly, but the socket construction and placement feel average, which brings down my overall build quality rating. * Noise: 9/10 โ Extremely quiet. I keep it in my bedroom and almost never notice any humming or operational noise. * Stability: 8/10 โ Stable performance with no unexpected issues during normal operation. * Power Switching: 10/10 โ The switchover during a power outage is seamless. Connected devices continue running without interruption. * Beeping: 10/10 โ The alert beeps are soft and not overly loud, making it suitable for use in a bedroom or office. * Low-Load Compatibility: 10/10 โ One of the biggest advantages of this UPS. Unlike many UPS units that shut down under very light loads, this one works perfectly with low-power devices such as an Apple TV and Deco M4 mesh Wi-Fi nodes. Overall Rating: 8.4/10 Pros: * Seamless power switchover * Very quiet during operation * Gentle, non-intrusive alarm beeps * Excellent support for ultra-low-power devices * Reliable for networking and entertainment equipment Cons: * Heavier than expected for its size * Output sockets could be of better quality If your primary use case is protecting networking equipment, streaming devices, or other low-power electronics, this UPS is an excellent choice. Its ability to stay on with very small loads is a feature thatโs surprisingly hard to find in many UPS models, and itโs one of the main reasons Iโd recommend it.

Defective, Unreliable and Not suited to Indian conditions.
I tried APC again after around a decade and regret it again! Short version - Look elsewhere. APC is NOT suited to our country's conditions/setups that are just the way they are. Earlier, years ago when I purchased APC, it failed to work on the occassional Genset power and that was annoying. They may have fixed that, but now, it has another fuss / bug / defect. I purchased two of these, and both have similar issue - They frequently fail to provide backup in a power interruption ! Rather they shut off, and start wailing with long beeps and flashing red light on power button. My SOHO setup has multiple desktops/devices that need uninterrupted power and while I have a large capacity inverter on duty, my desktop and devices like router prefer faster switch times. So I additionally use UPS where required. Currently using three - 2 of APC and 1 other popular brand. Needless to say the other UPS from other brand performs as expected - flawlessly . It's been just about a month or so of using the APC UPSes and both have exhibited the aforementioned issue without reason - can be replicated by turning off power from wall socket with load on UPS. 3-4 times out of ten the APCs will wail and shut off ! Raised a complaint with an unenthusiastic chat agent and got call from a technician who tried at length to understand the setup and first asked to connect to a line not on inverter - well not possible I don't have direct power sockets available - and the fact the other brand UPS does not mind the inverter at all! The technician further argued, if used on inverter line / manually tested via switching off wall socket switch / 'the UPS detects a neutral and shuts off to protect devices'. Well, WHY does one use a UPS ? To prevent interruptions data loss - but APC UPSes CAUSE both since they are basically crap / unsuitable / incompatible with brand of inverter / garbage - or all of the above?! APC, Perhaps you're suited to America and 110V. You cannot handle 220V. Please refund our money and also compensate for the trouble. Thumbs Down Update : A polite APC service engineer visited and replaced the PCB. Unfortunately have experienced the same issue one time again so far. I'm no expert but the absence of capacitors on the PCB raises a question. Maybe the relays are not quick enough and capacitors could have helped. Maybe the actual capacity is lower than rated. Not sure.. since backup time is decent. After Sale Service is good. If only the product was as reliable too.

APC UPS
I bought this UPS mainly for my monitor because my area experiences frequent voltage fluctuations, and I've already lost two monitors to panel issues. I'm not sure if the power problems caused the damage, but I wanted some extra protection. Since this is a line-interactive UPS, I'm hoping it helps protect my monitor from voltage fluctuations. It provides seamless backup during power outages, keeping my monitor on without any noticeable interruption. I was also worried about the loud beeping that many UPS units make, but this one isn't irritating. It gives two short beeps after a power outage and then a brief reminder beep about once a minute. The backup time has been sufficient for my needs, and overall I'm happy with the purchase.
