Awesome and easy
This is a great handheld thermal scope. Perfect for scanning and great detection range. From rabbits to deer it is good.

RIX K3 is more than I expected.
This thing is amazing. Super clear and Iβm going back hunting tonight on the same battery. For the money I think it goes above what I had originally expected from the K3. I used the lanyard that came with it and wore it round my neck. Hardly noticed it was there. So satisfied with this scanner.

I bought this model through Essence outdoors and I am super pleased with the product and the company I purchased it through. Essence outdoors has been amazing to work with. The RIX POCKET K3 has outstanding build quality and amazing power for such a handheld unit. I will be mounting this unit to a helmet here shortly for hands free operation. If you have any doubt in who your buying from.. ESSENCE OUTDOORS LLC IS AMAZING!!! They have treated me amazing and have been there for every question I have had. Great clarity and battery life. Picks up on everything and the range is unbelievable.

Flawed design
Initially pleased with this product, but found after only two hours use the "core" was damaged from exposure to a high heat source. The core, the most expensive component, was damaged, resulting in erroneous images on the viewing screen. The manual did state a simple warning, but did not mention the potential damage could be significant and would not be covered by the warranty.Customer support told me to not point it at a high heat source and not to leave the lens cover open when not using it, presumably with the power on. This information should have appeared in the manual as it would have saved me $250.00! Other products similar to this have circuitry to protect the core, this does not, so beware!
