I bought this to see how it would work as a chlorine dispenser for the hot tub as this plastic is rated to withstand high temperatures without breaking down, and, it has a wide mouth for easy insertion of 1"tablets. I drilled the smallest hole possible in the bottom center of the bottle to start with, and filled the 1 quart as full as possible and put it in the hot tub where the return is, out of sight, just floating in that area. So far it's been 1.5 months and the chlorine levels have been perfect, and, there is still about 2/3rds or so remaining. Based on this, looks like it will last about 4 months before needing a refill. For this purpose I highly recommend this container as it's the best, least expensive method I've come up with. BTW, this is a bull frog tub and they charge over $100 for a 4 months supply and need to be changed monthly. Chlorine tabs I bought should last a few years costing maybe $50/yr with refills about 3 times a year. I'll update if anything changes.

Love these to store leftover paint (gallon sized cans). Paint cans rust and are difficult to make an airtight seal. Paint ends up rusting or drying up. I’ve used these for leftover paint for years. They’re perfect for this ( though I wish they came in a two quart size).

I bought these for storing homemade frozen yogurt and ice cream. I liked the twist top closure. I only gave 4 stars because it is a bit too narrow of a container to scoop out ice cream. Nevertheless, it will be useful for storing many other food items.
