Remote sensor that allows Thermostat control from a different location
Works exactly as described and incredibly easy to link to your Nest Thermostat. I have two 3rd generation Nest Thermostats in the hallway. I connected (by software) a remote sensor to each Thermostat and leave the sensor in a different location. That way I can have the temperature controlled from a different source. You can switch the temp to monitor directly on the app. Price was reasonable. Can't say much about durability yet. Has worked flawlessly since install several weeks ago.

Game-Changing Google Nest Temperature Sensor – Perfect for Uneven Home Temperatures!
I had no idea the Google Nest Temperature Sensor even existed, and when I first learned about it, I was honestly skeptical. However, I decided to give it a try because our master bedroom consistently gets about 9°F warmer than our downstairs, creating an uncomfortable sleeping environment. Let me tell you, this little device has been an absolute game-changer!The sensor was incredibly easy to set up – it paired seamlessly with our Google Nest Thermostat through the Google Home app in just a few minutes. The quality feels solid, with a sleek, unobtrusive design that blends into our bedroom decor. Placing it in our master bedroom allowed us to prioritize that room’s temperature, and now our thermostat adjusts based on the sensor’s readings rather than the downstairs temperature. This has made our bedroom so much more comfortable, especially at night, and has significantly improved our sleep quality. What I love most is the flexibility. You can schedule the sensor to focus on specific rooms at different times, which is perfect for homes with uneven temperatures or for monitoring spaces like a child’s or baby’s room to ensure they’re at the ideal temperature. The shipping was fast, and the packaging was secure, ensuring the sensor arrived in perfect condition. For anyone dealing with temperature inconsistencies in their home or wanting precise control over specific rooms, I can’t recommend the Google Nest Temperature Sensor enough. It’s been such a fantastic addition to our smart home setup, and we’re thrilled with the results. 5 stars all the way

Backwards compatible with 3rd generation Nest TStat
Bought because it works with 3rd generation thermostat. Setup was easy .. kind of... it did just hang up during "pairing" mode. Waited 10min and then just exited. Somehow it showed up. I think the previous 2nd generation was a higher build quality, that's just being picky. It works that same as the prior generation , as far as temperature accuracy , and Bluetooth/ wifi range. Live in a condo so no issues with interference from neighbors , and stays connected( about 40ft ) to main thermostat.

Life saver!! Perfect to set temp to specific room or location
Life saver! Thank goodness i found this! It is so easy to setup and works like a dream. During winter, the main thermostat is in direct line of the sun and it then thinks it is over 90 degrees in the house and turns on emergency system when in fact it is 60 inside. The dot works perfectly so I never have to worry about this again! (i even had an electrician come in to quote moving the thermostat until I found this!)

Works better than expected
I wanted my bedroom to be the perfect temperature at night and the 'great room' to be perfect at wine and cheese time... With the Nest app it is pretty easy to associate multiple sensors with a thermostat and program them to be active according to your preferred schedule. If your network is reasonably robust you can also just pick up a sensor and move it where you want, provided the thermostat can control the environment there. An important consideration is that Google may transfer some of their hardware products to other manufacturers. Nest was a true start-up (you could call and likely talk to an engineer), then Google came along, and next someone else may take over. A working system should keep working through its 10 year life (though you may need to feed it batteries every few years) and compatibility with new vendors is likely, but its another thing to keep track of.
