I can't get the lid off! Apparently others have also had problems. Is there some sort of trick?UPDATE.I finally got the lid off (hint, it is not screwed on, so turning the lid to unscrew it does nothing - you have to pry/pop it off).Having finally gotten to the starter, I fed it slowly (at room temperature) with small, equal amounts (by weight) of bottled water and bread flour for about a week and a half, and it easily came back to life. I now have a good, healthy starter - and just baked with it for the first time. The bread came out wonderful.I've been baking sourdough bread for years, and have had a number of starters, and I must say this is one of the best I've ever used. The smell is deep, rich, and has that distinctive tanginess. I'd recommend this to everyone from sourdough beginners to people that are very experienced. It is just an excellent product.I also want to add a note about the Seller. I posted an initial review, just complaining about the lid. The seller reached out to me offering a replacement or refund. I was tied up with other things and didn't respond. Without even being asked, he sent another starter. I was very pleasantly surprised. The company genuinely cares about happy customers.So - bottom line - my grumpy one star review has been changed to five stars. This is an excellent product, sold by a very responsible company.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars all day!I knew that it took a long time to make your own starter from scratch and get it healthy - with all the necessary organisms and everything- so I ordered this and couldn’t be happier. It was easy to feed and grow, and I loved that it came with directions - as this was my first time ever working with a starter or making my own sourdough. The quality was on point and the taste is absolutely delicious in my breads and cinnamon buns!This starter also lasts! I accidently forgot to feed my starters for a little over a month - and just had them sitting in my fridge, and one of my starter jars still stayed alive despite the odds. I love that you buy this and then it just keeps multiplying; I have given a friend of mind some of this starter too - instead of discarding it, as every time you feed it - it multiplies. It's the gift that just keeps on giving! I highly recommend this organic sourdough starter - I've had mine for about a year now and absolutely love it!

І really liked this sourdough. Fresh, active, with a pleasant aroma. After the first feeding, it quickly came to life, the dough with it is obedient, rises well. The bread comes out with a crispy crust, porous and soft inside. A really high-quality product that met expectations. I recommend it.

If I could give a 10 stars I would I highly recommend you buy these starters! My husband and I are at home cooks and we bought LivingDough sourdough starters and it's changed our cooking game along with great health benefits. My husband is a cancer survivor and I have pcos so sourdough is the only dough we want to put in our bodies due to the health benefits. This starter worked just as advertised. it came in a sealed jar along with a page of easy to read instructions. This was my first time making sour dough bread and it came out almost perfect. I think that is pretty good for a first time. My bread came out delicious! I highly recommend this starter and will purchase it and other items from this company in the future!

This is my first sourdough starter so I don’t have anything to compare it to, it arrived 5 days faster than expected and came with instructions to revive it.The starter was a liquidy paste that smelled very sour, the instructions were clear and I was able to wake ‘Franny’ up and use her to bake after three feedings.My first loaf is a wonderful pumpernickle that smells amazing.I would Absolutely buy from living dough again in the future if I need a different starter variety.

Back when I could eat wheat, I had a sourdough starter for years that I used for everything. I was excited when I found this GF starter and I must say I couldn't be happier with the results. I fed it the day it arrived and by the next evening it was clearly active - it doubled in size and is full of happy bubbles and smells just the way it should. I can't wait to start baking with it. Highly recommend!
