Great addition
I started playing Dungeons and Dragons since I was 9 y/o and I'm 33 now. It was still AD&D when my brother and I got our first starter set and we played through the introduction of 3rd edition and 3.5. I stopped playing in high school and just picked it up again recently so I missed 4th edition completely (which I have no regrets about now that I have seen the material they put out). I really like the direction 5th edition has taken the game and have been really stoked every time I get my hands on a new book I can delve into. This book hasn't even been close to a disappointment at all. The first few chapters are filled with a ton of lore to help DM's get a better feel for the multiverse and how different cultures the characters will experience interact with one another. These chapters also have a ton of info for PC's to use in character creation and fleshing out their back story. I understand when the source books are geared towards either the DM or the PC's but its really awesome when the book can be passed around the table and EVERYONE can get use out of it. The illustrations are fantastic as well. I haven't made it to the mobsters yet but from what I have thumbed through it seems like it will be a great addition to the menagerie available to DM's on top of the Monster Manual. All in all, great book. 5 out of 5.

A Must-Have for High Level DMs
This is an absolute must-have for anyone wanting to DM a game or campaign with planar threats, truly terrifying beasties, or just a greater variety of high challenge rating monsters. Tons of excellent high level threats that can populate an epic level one shot or serve as the big-bad for entire campaigns. The only bummer was the section on the archdevils. I wish they had included stat blocks for more of the "big names" of the hells, like Dispater or Levistus. Instead they focused on the lieutenants and "dukes" of the nine hells. They are still cool threats, but just not what I was expecting. I also wish they had included more art for the star spawn. These shortcomings would normally have lessened my rating by one star, however, they included some awesome content that I was not expecting. They have several "boons" that are aligned with various big-bads of the multiverse. You can use these to customize other monsters or NPCs to differentiate them based on how they are aligned. Does your cult of Asmodeus have a berserker? Give that rage monster some unique abilities bestowed only to the devil lord's most powerful or honored servants. These boons are super easy to use, usually increasing one or two ability scores by a bit and giving them unique actions that can catch experienced players off-guard. These super thematic boons earned that star back and then some.I absolutely love this book. Amazing art, truly horrifying creatures, and some really fun options for player character races.

my husband is very happy.
I wrote a product review on the other amazon specials for the dnd books. My husband never splurges on anything for himself and he's in love with these books. Since we've gotten married he's been trying to teach me how to play. we moved where we don't have many friends so we're stuck inside most of the time by ourselves. So we've been starting up family traditions since we've been trying to start a family of our own. He saw this Amazon sale since I'm pretty much the Amazon queen of our house. Hey since I spend 99 dollars a year on prime I want to get my money's worth. He's been shopping around as well. So he ordered the 60 dollar dnd books since their pretty much 200 dollars for the collection. It really was a steal. We had two books arrived damaged and he was disappointed which I'm still trying to get a partial refund for because of how badly they arrived, I agreed with my husband that we were both glad they weren't collectors additions. This book was the only book we got that we could tell had never even been opened which was nice. All in all I'm really glad we took advantage of the amazon sale. I'm going to be excited to make charachters and write epic novles for friends and family and maybe one day for you all to enjoy as well.

Down right the best price of entry I’ve ever seen!
All six books, all three core, all three bad game supplements are on sale right now for about 20 bucks each on amazon this month, absolutely worth the price of admission! Now you could, like I, solely use apps like Fantasy Grounds (Steam client) and or free PDFs, But nothing replaces the feeling and ease of use of having physical copies of each guide in hand. Plus as a fun bonus they looks stunning in my bookshelf. Make you look even more professional as a DM in person. Lastly, all six together give you an extreme launching pad for designing, running and modifying premade or homemade campaigns! For 20 a pop, what is normally a $300 purchase turns into a $120 steal, never will you ever get a better deal on these books brand new.My only regret was getting the one book I did have before this sale but ce n'est pas grave. Now onto the book itself, it accounts several of the biggest wars ever recorded in the Fantasy Realms from the perspective of someone recording lost hidden history. Adds many variants to Teiflings which come with as you’d imagine, all have unique abilities to match! Then there is more background knowledge and generators for Halflings, plus, new foes and a few new items as well. Very centered on devils, species and lore wise. Pretty solid book, I’d put it right after Volo but right before Xanthar.
