Osborne EDC Knife, MagnaCut Steel Blade (940BK-03)

Such a great folding knife with the Axis lock. I am a big fan of the burnt copper. For the money, it’s so worth it. Extremely sharp of course. Feels great in hand. The scales are not slippery. Has a grip to it. Looks amazing under real sun light. I see what all the hype is about. The style of blade is great. Great blade stock. The weight of the knife is bad at all for how strong it is. You don’t want a light knife. It’s a knife! Free sharping for life with a great warranty!!! The designer of this blade, Osborne knew his stuff. He made a great blade. Anyone who collects knives should have this blade. I want the carbon fiber or the G1 scale version with a different blade style. I had a gift card for Amazon. I would have purchased it from Benchmade or an unauthorized dealer. Where I live, I don’t have a whole lot of options.

Well built. Sharp. Nice color. Nice blade shape. Well aligned. Did have a small blemish they missed on the handle. Made me sad but not sad enough to exchange it. Didn’t want to go through the rerun process.

After watching a few hundred YouTube videos and reading a ton of various knife reviews, I ultimately decided to purchase a Benchmade 940 Osborne. Came as described, razor sharp and definitely a quality piece of cutlery. Great fit in hand and slim in the pocket. Price is definitely steep but they say you get what you pay for. Looking forward to years of use.

Classic benchmade with a huge upgrade in blade steel, as well as a beautiful anodization on the aluminum handle. Love this combination. Smooth as butter, strong axis lock, robust blade shape.

Benchmade knives are a scam. You can buy a better made knife for literally 1/6th the price (check out Kizer or Spyderco)and it's going to come with better customer support too. My experience with customer support was this: i sent in a knife that wobbled and wasn't sitting symmetrically when closed (this is how i received it FACTORY NEW) paid 10 dollars, sent in the knife and a month later they send back my knife without having done ANYTHING to address the issue. now the support is ignoring me and not returning messages, so i filed a consumer complaint with the DOJ in their state. I would never buy a benchmade knife again. i would suggest that no one ever buy a benchmade knife.

Classic 940 perfection. Strong, light, and razor sharp.

I was surprised when I received my order from the Benchmade storefront. Upon opening the box, the blade does not have “USA” under the butterfly logo as pictured, and there is significant lock stick and grinding with the AXIS lock right out of the box. After contacting Benchmade, they confirmed they no longer include a pouch or literature, and that the “USA” marking is no longer printed on the blade because certain steels are not sourced from the USA. What is pictured is fake, and they acknowledged that they did not update the photos as they do not want to advertise this development. What’s shown in the product photos is not what you actually receive. That’s disappointing, especially at this price point. You expect a premium product to match its presentation and description. Overall, I like the looks of the knife however; had a few issues that were not expected. Fixed the grinding from the Axis lock and broke down the knife several times to fix blade play and very stiff action as the simple pivot adjustments were not working. The knife is now functioning as expected. This lack of consistency hurts confidence in Benchmade as a brand. I do not mind working on my knives and enjoy doing so however; this experience had a rough start.
