This is the perfect column for handling new construction and major repairs for slab on grade and crawlspace buildings. it is strong, sturdy, and meets code for permanent supports once encased in concrete. you could even do a basement but you should go for one of the longer 4" columns this PA based company makes.If you're in the US you want this column because in the US 3" supports can only be used temporarily. This is actually going to pass an inspection without a bunch of effort.

I looked at many of these jacks on Amazon and was apprehensive about this one because of the lack of reviews. Like many others, it comes in pieces. This does not seem to be an issue as it fits together well. The metal is sturdy. The bar used to spin the screw did not bent under moderate load but could be a weak point. I have installed 2 and ordered 4 more. I will follow up when job is complete.

Can;t be used to lift porch. I have to use a hydraulic jack to lift, then use the mini to keep it there.

Works great. Currently on week 2 of supporting a section of my home, about 6 tons and no sagging. Top and bottom plate are about 1/4” steel so no need to add anything under floor joist.

These are heavy duty permanent Jack's we used for beams under the house. Work great. Have bought a bunch and they have not disappointed.

Well, the paint isn't a bright red powder coat, but these bad boys are rated at 28,700 pounds. Once installed to give a bit of floor stability to a 102 year old house, they should do the job in the dark crawlspace for another 100 years. The installation label suggests encasing the screw mechanism in concrete, but I'll just be placing it (yes, screw mechanism DOWN) on concrete pads. Will bolt top plate to joists.

This is a very heavy duty support column. They are built well, 1/4” thick top and bottom plates, and 1 1/2” diameter threaded adjusting rod. Very happy with purchase.

The product is functional however the supplied rod used to extend the Jack is inferior and bends. Therefore you are not able to lift the load beyond that.
