Best fine-tip EtOH-resistant marker I’ve ever used
We just received these pens today and tested them in the lab. They are 100% resistant to 70% ethanol when writing on plastic 1.5 mL microcentrifuge tubes and also when writing on standard peel-off labels for microcentrifuge tubes. I just wrote a similar review for the engineering pens by Magictag. The Janlaugh pens reviewed here are similarly EtOH-resistant and also very fine tipped for writing on small tubes and tube labels. These pens are superior in terms of ethanol resistance to any I have tested (with the exception of the Magictag Engineering pens, which are just as resistant but make a bolder mark and need to be shaken before writing). If you don’t mind a bolder tip and the need to shake the pen, the Magictag pens are great although they will smear unless you let them dry a few seconds. These fine-tip pens from Janlaugh are the BEST fine-tipped ethanol-resistant pens our lab has tested so far, and we have tested many, including offerings from biotech companies. If you’re looking for an ethanol resistant lab marker with a fine point, this is it. I plan to order several boxes.

Good marker for indoor use
Great marker. Dries fast and durable. Will wash off in outside settings during rain. For inside projects they work great. Good value for the money.

Great for lab use
These markers are great for lab use especially on small tubes and the ink doesn't come off if you spray with IPA, just avoid rubbing it right after writing

Finally, a Lab Marker That Survives Alcohol and My Coworkers
I rarely write reviews for lab supplies because usually the review is just “yep, it’s a marker.” But these deserve it. I use them constantly in the lab on glass bottles, sample vials, tube lids, plastic containers, random mystery containers someone abandoned in the fridge three months ago — and the writing actually stays put. Most “lab-safe” markers seem to give up the second alcohol touches them. These don’t. They survive wiping, handling, glove abuse, and the general chaos of a busy lab environment. No smearing, no disappearing ink, no trying to decipher whether that says “sample 6” or “sodium chloride.” The writing stays sharp and readable. The fine tip is perfect too. Small enough to label tiny lids without looking like a toddler wrote it with a crayon. Ink flows well, dries quickly, and doesn’t blob everywhere. At this point I guard these markers like a feral raccoon protecting a French fry. If one disappears off my bench, I notice immediately.
