If you care about silence, it's worth the extra money over the Cooler Master SFX.
I originally bought the Cooler Master SFX Gold to replace my aging and dying power supply. It's a top tier power supply with great components at a fantastic price, but it wasn't quiet enough for me. I could hear it at idle. This was worth spending the extra $45 on over the Cooler Master. Dead silent even with your ear pressed up against it. One complaint: The pins on the cables are tangled. The cable starts on the left side of one connector and then goes all the way to the right side of the opposite connector. All of the cables are like this! This makes combed cables difficult, and it's a common complaint about this power supply. As soon as the cables disappear behind my motherboard tray, they turn into a twisted mess so that they reach the right pins. I'm using this in an ATX build, for which you will need extensions. I'm using $20 extension kit I found on Amazon, works great.

Quiet fan, beautiful cables
It is 100% worth it to get the 80+ Platinum version of this power supply. The price bump over the 80+ Gold is not only for the efficiency, but for the cables and fan aswell. I've heard complaints about the lawnmower installed where the fan should be on the 80+ Gold versions of the SF450/600, and from what I've observed, the 80+ Platinum versions do not have the same noise problem. The fan does not make any noise at all. The cables are also far superior to the 80+ Gold version. The 80+ Gold has the standard power supply glued-together cables, whereas the 80+ Platinum has sleeved cables which makes it very easy to cable manage in even the smallest cases (Ghost S1 pictured, SATA SSD installed too!) because the cables are easier to bend and are skinnier. Don't cheap out. Get the 80+ Platinum.

The best ... if the cables are long enough for your case ...
Awesome PSU ... small, silent, cool and powerful! I have 2 of them and plan to get another. The included cables are shorter than with some other PSUs though. Was not an issue in my case but with some larger tower cases, you may run out of cable length
