Worth the money, and they work great!
I suffer from Big Toe Joint pain in both feet, but especially in my right foot. This is a result of the connective tissue being worn away between the toe joints, leading to bone on bone friction. At the suggestion of my orthopedist last year, I bought one carbon fiber insert (another seller through Amazon with a product called Onujo fiber insole) to put into my right shoe, so that my right foot toes don't bend when walking. It did the trick. The insert took the pressure off my right toe, because it stayed stable, so almost no pain. I did need a soft insert (e.g., like a Dr. Scholl's gel insert) over the carbon fiber insert because I needed some padding to protect my heel and sole from the carbon fiber's hard surface. I felt sometimes on my right foot that I was walking like Frankenstein, just plopping my foot down, because the foot didn't bend when it hit the ground. Unfortunately, the pain got so bad this year that I had surgery to fuse my Big Toe. Now it really doesn't bend at all, so no friction and no pain, and the carbon fiber insert keeps my right foot flat. Since my left Big Toe pain is now getting worse, I decided to get another carbon fiber insert to see if that would help me postpone surgery for that foot. I went with this vendor because I got two inserts compared to the price of the one I bought last year. So far, so good. These inserts appear to be identical in every way except for the price, and hopefully they keep me walking and pain-free for a good, long time.

Broken Toe? BUY THIS get out of that surgical boot
These were fantastic. I broke my big toe and couldn't bear wearing the surgical boot for 6-8 weeks. It was killing my back and hip. I purchased these and put them in my sneaker. ( I used both in my one sneaker to make it stronger and less likely to bend my toe. You just flip one over and put them together.) They are true to size and worked wonderfully. When I went to my doctor wearing my sneaker she said "oh you are wearing your sneakers" and not in a happy tone. When I showed her what I did and why I think she was a little impressed. Wore it for 7 weeks until I was able to get the all clear but seriously if i didn't already have $300 inserts for my arches I may have kept them in. Very comfortable not cumbersome or uncomfortable at all.

These have been a game changer!
These inserts are lightweight and sturdy. They provide a good balance of rigidity with flexibility. They fit easily inside my shoes, and they provide excellent support. I have bought additional sets for my other shoes.

Not bad
Not bad, hopefully it helps with my metatarsal issue! Sturdy & well made. A bit smaller tho because I pushed it all the way up my shoe & there still was a 1” gap. I wear a 8.5 women & it was women 8-8.5 & still left a gap but I needed it more on my toe area so I pushed it forward in my shoe, hopefully it doesn’t shift or I will have to tape it down. Will update later for future developments!

Works perfectly to stiffen my sole
I recently broke my toe and my dr suggested I wear stiff soled shoes while it healed. I saw this and similar products on Amazon and thought I’d offer a review. Overall they are good. They significantly stiffened up my shoe so it puts less stress on my toe. I can’t comment on other uses for the product. No this doesn’t work in all shoes. It didn’t work in my rockports ( insole doesn’t bend so the shoe bed needs to be flat). If it doesn’t work in one pair, try another. Worked fine in my keens. Yes follow instructions and get a smaller size than your current insole. Smaller means it’s more likely to fit in your shoe. The purpose is to only stiffen your sole which doesn’t need to be the whole length of your foot. Yes it’s reversible so you can use it with 2 right shoes if you only hurt one foot. Oh and comfort…. I am not going to walk or run a marathon but then again I do have a broken toe. Hope that helps.

Can cause paresthesia at the balls of your feet
My trail runner shoes weren't sturdy enough for jagged trails of JMT. So I inserted these carbon fiber insoles to protect my feet from sharp rocks. It did the job -- my feet were less sore at the end of each day. But my feet ended up with paresthesia at the ball. Usually, you end up with paresthesia on toes when they get compressed together by the shoes. But these insoles compressed the balls of my feet, and they ended up with numbness. Looks like it'll take a few months before I regain feeling on the balls. They may be OK for a day-hike. For multi-day hikes, I wouldn't recommend. Try sturdy shoes instead.

Recommend
My ortho doctor recommended these. I’ve developed arthritis & beginning of bone spurs in the bones on the top of my foot. These are a firm, rigid PLATE that keep your shoe from bending at the toe & ball of foot thus relieving pressure farther up the foot. They are NOT a soft, comfy, arch support. That is not their purpose. They help prevent flexing of the toes/ball of foot & in doing so yes, your heel rises out of your shoe a little. Takes some gtg used to cuz it makes your shoe rigid & they prevent you from pushing off from the toe area as you walk. I ordered my shoe size & they fit perfectly. You rip out your shoes insole. Put in the carbon plate & cover with the insole that comes with the plate. After a couple days I am 90% pain free. Highly recommend.

Good Carbon Fiber Plates
My daughter needed carbon, fiber, and salt or extraction rack to her foot. We ordered these due to the low cost and we’re not disappointed. The size was as advertised. It fit her shoe. I can’t see any of these comfortable since it is a metal plate, your shoe, but I feel it does what it supposed to do. The Support is there, the plates do not bend.. They are easy to use if you just sit in your shoe they have waxed through an entire Field Hockey in lacrosse season and they still looking brand new.
