I know everyone finds it hard to move to new straighteners, I'm no exception. My hair is very fine, and dry. I have naturally 'randomly wavy here and there in no coherent pattern' hair which I dry 'straight' with a brush and hair dryer so it's always a frizz bomb by the time I come to use the straighteners. I don't normally buy ghd or pay that kind of price tag for straighteners, I find ghd's leave my hair too flat and flyaway anyway. When I need new ones, if I haven't already seen what I want I will look at all the current straighteners and choose what looks best and that's what I did when I bought these. They were on a promotion and considering how good I think they are I realise I got them at a great price. They do heat up fast, and the heat up takes a little longer the higher the temperature you select. You need to set the temperature each time, not a big deal you just click the button until you reach the level you want and the light blinks until its up to temperature and doesn't take long. I use the one below the top temperature, I could probably use less but this is the approximate temperature I always use. You need to hold the straighteners on the handle and not grab them further up, there is a rubber indicator you just don't go past it and you'll be fine - if you grab further up you will get burnt. The chrome outside on these is for curling so it's nearly as hot as the plates, you can't touch it and should avoid going right to the scalp with the in general. When first used I found that like nearly all straighteners it takes using them few times for the plates to fall into a completely flat position. There was the odd snag on the first/second run but none really after that. They straighten well and give even heat, and I have tried the curling which I liked but found a little difficult to get used to as you need to put the rubber caps on and you need to be careful as they are all you have to hold onto the end and not burn your fingers, I found it difficult to be sure I was holding them right when curling behind my head/using a mirror. Comes with heat proof pouch which is a bonus, good long lead, lock for keeping the straighteners closed, auto shut off. I would recommend without hesitation.

Great purchase unlike many expensive brands.
Wow.. the best purchase I've ever made for any hair styling tools/ equipment. This straight and curl iron is brill. My hair is extremely difficult to hold a curl of any sort and this did an amazing job unlike any other curlind wands.. ceramic thick barrel tongs .. ghd's etc etc.. tried them all and these are the best by far holds the curl in all day/night. Your hair glides therough the plates with no pulling or snagging. These are also brill for straightening hair too without reptiotion of each section. Well woth the money.

Really good titanium straighteners!
I really like these straighteners! I've been using corioliss mark 2 (also titanium plates) for years & theyre still good but ate getting older so thought I'd buy some more. I dont like GHDs as hate ceramic; titanium is sooo much better. Corioliss mk 3 out of stock everywhere...annoying...but I stumbled across these....they were on offer (£50 half price) and the reviews looked good so I thought I'd try them.PROS:Firstly, I agree with the other reviews that state they make a buzzing sound; its not overly loud but obvious enough. It doesn't bother me at all. They heat up quickly & I like the variations in temperature. I've been using at 210° & works fine for me.My hair is course, thick, highlighted (dry) & naturally wavy. I generally only wash twice a week & always tie back & dry naturally (unless in a hurry) I then run straighteners through it when dry. These did a good job of gliding through the hair; not as effortlessly as the Corioliss but still good & far better than GHD's or other ceramic. Hair wasn't snagged or pulled at all. I reduce the temperature to low when I straighten the sides to minimise damage & my hair was still lovely & straight, soft too.Negatives; they get BLOODY HOT! They come with 2 small rubber ends to use when curling to allow you to touch the ends...not used to curl yet but i would imagine that I'll likely lose these black stoppers when I do! Not sure why they made them removable? If you touch any part of the metal you will burn so go careful! I would imagine they'll curl the hair well though because of this!Another bad part is the temperature control being on the handle...i haven't managed to accidentally press it but it feels as if I might do....bit of a crap design...All in all, these are a great titanium straightener/curling wand. I highly recommend these for a budget pair. However, they're not as good as my corioliss titanium ones but they're less than have the price & do a great job so give these a go if you don't have £140 spare x 😉

Best buy
This is the 2nd time I have purchased these straighteners and as a professional stylist I have also got my colleagues using them too! Love the long plates this is so time saving and can take bigger sections it doesn’t drag the hair it’s so smooth.. I does amazing curls as the outside of the barrel is also hot so works like a tong! The downside to this is you can burn yourself so would recommend wearing protective gloves!

A great curling tool
This is a great straightener/curler that's easy to use and does the job at a much better price than a GHD! Like other reviews have mentioned it does make a bit of an odd sound once it's on and warmed up (like a soft buzzing), but I barely even notice it anymore and it doesn't affect its use at all. I use mine on the lowest heat setting and it gives a nice sleek result and some good curls that last really well if I take the time to pay attention to each hair section properly and prepare my hair (I have thick, wavy hair). I haven't burnt myself using it but you do have to be mindful to only touch the ends - with the rubber caps on! - when you're curling. I also like that the protective mat has a sleeve area, so I just lock the plates together and slip it straight in after using it and let it cool down that way. For the price I'm really impressed and happy with it and definitely recommend it.
