Tusa Freedom HD Scuba Diving Mask M-1001QB-FB - Fishtail Blue

Estamos evidentemente ante una máscara de gama alta, los acabados son francamente buenos. Muy suave la parte de silicona que, además, está diseñada de forma que es muy fácil taparse la nariz para ir compensando la presión en las vías auditivas. Por otra parte, el visor de cristal templado es simplemente de 10 y proporciona un ángulo de visión increíble, a años luz de modelos inferiores como mi antigua máscara (por no hablar de los típicos que te alquilan). La comodidad bajo el agua es absoluta, cero empañamiento y cero entrada de agua, la he usado un par de veces ya y en ninguna de mis inmersiones es tenido que evacuar la máscara ni una sola vez, cosa que no me había pasado en mi vida hasta ahora. Te olvidas de que la llevas puesta hasta que vuelves a la superficie y te la quitas. Puede parecer un poco cara habiendo modelos de 40-50 euros muy aceptables, pero vale la pena pagar más por la comodidad y el increíble ángulo de visión. Ideal para caras grandes como la mía, aunque tengo la sensación de que es una máscara que se adaptaría a cualquier contorno de cara.

I have a large head so this mask fit very good and was comfortable. The only problem I had was constant fogging during a St. John USVI trip, even with toothpaste trick and de-foggers. This is probably the number one problem with scuba masks though which is why I still gave it 4 stars. I have not attempted the flame from a lighter and wiping the black residue away, which one customer recommended so that will be the next attempt. Other than the fogging it was a great mask.

I bought this for my partner (right in photo) and the Elite for my smaller face (left). The masks look great and are well made, but took a lot of prep to anti-fog them. Tried several rounds of scrubbing with pastey toothpaste, dishwashing liquid… they still fogged up. Eventually my dive guide got a lighter out and fixed it for me (I didn’t trust myself to do it!)

What a beautiful mask. As with all dive masks, you should try many different models, shapes and sizes on before buying. Mask fit varies so drastically from person to person. This one happens to be as about as perfect as I could ask for. The silicone is soft and very tight sealing, the vision is wide and clear. I highly recommend using water, low grit toothpaste and a toothbrush to clean the inside of the lenses before use. There is some kind of anti-fog coating the manufacturer applies that does the exact opposite opposite of what it is intended that needs to be removed. After I did the above mentioned procedure, I had much better results keeping it fog free.
