WWE: WrestleMania 34 (DVD)

This Wrestlemania DVD set features Daniel Bryan's return to in-ring action after retire in 2016 due to an injury, the in-ring debut of UFC hottie Ronda Rousey & the return of the Undertaker who retires at WrestleMania 33 after losing to Roman Reigns. The triple threat match for the Intercontinental Championship was a great way to kick off WrestleMania with Seth Rollins winning the Intercontinental Championship by defeating The Miz (God I hate him) & Finn Balor. Then the first of 4 dream matches features Charlotte Flair (my dream girl) defending the Smackdown Women's Championship against the 1st ever female Royal Rumble winner Asuka in an incredible match. Then the Fatal-4-Way Match for the United States Championship was OK except Jinder Mahal won the championship by defeating Randy Orton, Bobby Roode & Rusev. Then the second dream match features Hall of Famer Kurt Angle teams up with UFC hottie Ronda Rousey against Triple H & Stephanie McMahon in a stole-stealing match. Then the triple threat match for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship was OK except the Bludgeon Brothers won the championship by defeating the Usos & the New Day. Then the third dream match features WWE hero John Cena takes on the Undertaker in a fast match of course, I enjoy watching Cena beat up Elias. Then, the returning Daniel Bryan teams up with Shane McMahon against Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn to concludes the storyline feud between Shane-O-Mac & KO that started at Summer Slam 2017. Then the RAW Women's Championship match was OK of course, I enjoy watching Nia Jax beat up Alexa Bliss (the top heel of the Women's Evolution). Then the fourth dream match features AJ Styles (who have a stole-stealing match against Shane-O-Mac at WrestleMania 33) defending the WWE Championship against the 2018 Royal Rumble winner Shinsuke Nakamura in an PHENOMENAL match except Nakamura turns heel after the match was over. Then the RAW Tag Team Championship was bizarre especially when Braun Strowman picks a kid to take on The Bar. Then the last match features Brock Lesnar (Vince McMahon's boy) defending the Universal Championship against his WrestleMania 31 opponent Roman Reigns (my boy) in a brutal match. Then it contains a bonus disc features the night after WrestleMania on RAW. Great DVD set!

Having sat through all of the 1980’s and early 1990s WrestleMania events, I feel qualified to say that these modern events are LONG. There is plenty of good stuff here such as Asuka and Charlotte, the mixed tag featuring Ronda Rousey, even the AJ Styles-Shinsake Nakamura match were solid matches, but the sheer volume of stuff here means that the average fan is worn out so that there’s little reaction for anything other than “can we please get this done with before sun up”? This is personified by the last hour featuring such moments as: Nia Jax squashing Alexa Bliss like a bug, Braun Strowman winning the tag belts with a child, and Brock Lesner and Roman Reigns dragging a match out only to produce an outcome that could’ve been achieved ten-fifteen minutes earlier. Just because everyone wants to have a WrestleMania moment doesn’t mean the show needs to stretch long enough to inspire fan apathy. A solid event, with way too much crammed in, for way too long.

Me esperaba una mejor calidad en el bluray, tengo la edición número 24 (que es de hace 10 años) y se nota mucho más la calidad de visión que en esta.
