Casio GWG1000 1A1 vs Garmin tactix delta solar
So, I usually don’t write many reviews as i feel plenty of people do and do so pretty well generally speaking, so when I do its usually after I have had the item for a while and was very impressed or very unimpressed. That being said I have ran Garmin Fenix, tactix Charlie, delta and recently purchased the delta solar. All of which I loved with the exception of the delta solar as the solar part was a complete let down. However with all the bells and whistles of these watches(and they have many) quite a few people I know still preferred the Casio higher end watches. I also recently purchased the Casio GWG 1000 1A1 watch. I must say I feel a bit like a Benedict Arnold even writing this review as Garmin has been very good to me. So this is not meant to be a Garmin bashing I feel they make some very good products and still own many. Anyways, comparing these two is a bit like oranges and apples. Here are my thoughts. The Garmin looks more modern, high tech and it is….. I found my self scratching the Garmin's(bezels)very easily, and with the giant screen and no raised bezel (not much of one) you better start out with a screen protector or your going to scratch it eventually. Yes, you absolutely can scratch sapphire crystal I have accidentally bumped a brick wall and scratched one. I found my watch dropping connection semi often from my phone. And the solar charger on the delta was absolutely useless. I know it sounds like I did not like the delta however I really did as it had a ton of positive things I did like/love. Very easy to read, answer texts, music controls and was a great back up gps for when i was on my motorcycle, particularly the near by me function. So, I got the Casio gwg1k and spent about four hours just getting to know it and it is simply a different animal all together. The operating system on this thing just some how grabs you. It’s like it has one foot in the digital world and one in analog but in a very very cool way. I ride a Japanese sport bike and this kind of reminds me of them. Yes, there are a couple other bikes just as fast, yes, bmw/Ducati are a bit more refined, but the Japanese bike cost less and lasts longer and are amazing machines giving you better bang for buck(don’t hate-its my opinion not a fundamental law of the universe). I compared compass, baro, alt and temp. To other trusted units I have and they were spot on. Part of the coolness of this watch is learning the features(the first time i ever WANTED to learn features of a watch). It appears to be made very well. Lastly you can replace parts yourself on the Casio which is a big plus for me. You can look up parts for it to see what are available to the consumer to replace. The atomic clock is very cool. When you need to see the small digital screen just hit a button and the hand all spin off out of the way and return back to there position when finished. It tells you when it needs to be charged. You can set the light to come on when you raise your wrist, world time, dual stop watch features. Bump the compass button an the second hand immediately becomes the compass arm and the second hand also automatically turns to north. And the digital screen also tells direction and degrees. I could go on and on but I wont it is a very cool watch that appears to be made very well. If ANYTHING changes I will update this post. There is a guy on youtube that explains every detail of the watch in a two part video. It was kind of interesting as I think the guy doing the youtube video is Russia(maybe) living in Paris explaining a Japanese watch being watched by an America(me) for some reason I got a kick out of that. One last thing……..who ever you are where ever your from….Health and Wealth!UPDATE: Had the watch for a bit now. Pleased to be able to say that nothing has changed as far as my opinion on the watch. For an oversize watch it is probably the most comfortable I have worn and I have worn a lot of them. The solar part works surprisingly well I am really amazed at just how well it does work with as little direct light as it get for the size of the screen. If I were to be able to change anything it would be that the face can be a bit hard to see in the see(particularly the digital part). I can live with that as everything else about the watch is overwhelmingly positive in my opinion. I needed a bit of light at the spur of the moment the other night and thought to test out the light on the watch to see if it would provide any useful light in a pinch and was pleasantly surprised that the back light on the watch did what I needed just (barely) but it did the job. Over all still very satisfied with the watch. For any wondering I have not received any compensation what so ever for this review, Just pleased to find a watch with more pros than cons.

Toughest Watch For The Money. Period.
Let me make several things perfectly clear : This is a very large ( 56mm ) watch. It is one of the most over engineered watches for it's purpose that you will find. It is not a watch for guys unsure of their place in this world or with insecurity issues. This watch is built to exacting standards to withstand mud, grime, sludge, rain, shock, snow, excessive vibrations, drilling, digging, pneumatic drills & hammers being used while on the job and not skipping a beat. Don't worry about battery life cause it's solar powered. 200 meter water resistant equals 650 feet down, so no worries there. This is not a smartwatch with GPS, Bluetooth, heart rate, fitness tracking, etc. That's a different kind of watch for a very different kind of purpose. But if you need a hardened work tool and not some kind of flimsy gadget on your wrist, then Mister you've come to the right place. If your job requires you to get down and dirty, building walls or jumping over them, or sweaty and grimey, here it is. Sapphire crystal found on the high end boys is built in this watch. Only another sapphire stone or a diamond will ever scratch that glass. All construction workers, farmers, law enforcement, USA Armed Forces, welders, plumbers, electricians, ACLS paramedics, engineers, etc., now have a watch that matches the dedication, commitment, and intensity that these men bring to their calling. In my opinion, this is the toughest watch manufactured today. Bigger is not necessarily better. But if it is Bigger and Better, then it is BETTER ! !

This is a fantastic watch!
This is my second Casio G-Shock class watch, if you disregard the counterfeit MudMaster I bought on the net. I wanted a tough watch that could do the things this watch can do while banging around on a motorcycle off road. I looked carefully at the different versions of the GWG-1000 series and decided the dark black was the model I wanted. Some times, I ride more than 12 hours a day and the vibration does affect my old hands which seem to "hum" after I stop the bike. This is a large watch, but is easy to read and the illumination time is adjustable. The only time I notice the size is when I close my glove's velcro gauntlet over it. Be careful of all the fakes and knockoffs out there....I purchased this watch from Amazon because I knew they would stand behind the product and the price was very competitive.Any one need a "look-a-like" MudMaster?

Wears perfectly. Premium G Shock.
I use this watch for everyday use. Set up was a breeze, especially for an analog guy stuck in a digital world. It’s easy to read at a glance regardless of the light that is available. The atomic time keeping is a no brainer. It’s big. Expect people to make comments on the size of the watch. It’s also handsome in a “I mean business” sort of way. That being said, it does not feel large or heavy on my wrist. Is it ideal for the occasional black tie event I find myself in? No, but I have another watch for that. If I were put into a situation where I can only choose one watch to keep, this would be the one. Pull the trigger. You won’t regret it.

My favorite watch ever!!
I bought 1 then it turned out to be damaged or fake. (Fakes only have 1 led to light up the face). The crown was broke, box was damaged and had some kind of white stuff all over it like foam or something. Noticed Amazon and they replaced it with a new one that is authentic!!! Very happy with this watch and all the functions. Read the whole book because it will take a learn to learn how to use all the functions from memory without having to go back to the book. With the 2 led light, it lights up the whole face very well!!!!! The temp works very well too, just remember to take it off and let it sit for a lil bit to adjust to the ambient temperature. I love this watch!!!!
