At least the one I recieved does not boil, only goes from 86°- 203°. But I dont need it to, so I'll keep the fifth star because it works just as its advertised otherwise and meets my needs. The water heats up reasonably fast for the power it consumes. Others are faster but higher watts. The carry bag is definitely a higher quality than I expected.

This kettle seems really unsafe to use, the cord gets really hot and it took a total of 40 minutes to boil. That may be due to low voltage but there wasn’t any codes or anything that popped up to signify low voltage. The instructions say to boil water twice before it’s food safe, but boiling it once I realized it would take many more times before the awful chemical smell would even go away. I didn’t personally test that theory because I wasn’t in the mood to wait 2 hours and potentially start a fire. Aside from that when the kettle reaches boiling temperature the outside of the kettle feels really hot indicating poor insulation and quality. Save your money and buy a good portable kettle that will not be a safety hazard. I will be returning this item.

Kettle is ok, doesn’t leak, fits perfectly into car cup holder, a bit slow to boil the water (20-30min) but it’s working well. Everything is working as it should but the cable on connection on the kettle starts to melt from the heat. Not sure how long it will last. After that you can only throw it away. 3 and a half stars.

I have tried a couple of other "kettle" products to use on road trips all of which have been a dismal failure. They always shorted out or didn't work at all. THIS kettle however is amazing. I took it for its inaugural trip and it worked perfectly every single time. I like to have hot coffee on the road and this did not disappoint. It was really easy to use as well. The buttons are easy to press and the LED temperature light was easy to read. It beeps when its ready and the best part is you can just flip open the lid and pour into your travel mug. It not only heats items up but keeps them warm as well. Best part is it is easy to clean as well. I also have not noticed any leaking at all. I am very impressed with this kettle and for the price it really is a solid purchase!

Recently had a power outage - was out 80+ hours. The first day hearing might be out for days (a first for us), - did a search for how to heat hot water in car. This popped up - $32 - I thought ugg - but purchased and received the next day. $32 - worth every last dime! To be able to go to car and heat up and then ability to make hot tea/coffee was beyond wonderful, for body and mind. Also, while waiting for it to heat up - we able to warm up, as well as bringing cat with to warm up too.Heat up time - pretty much as described - 20 minutes - possibly a bit more - if so, was still under 25 minutes. Used it, hmm between 15-20 times.For those purchasing for actual travel purposes - can't imagine you would be disappointed.As an aside, this my first review, even though have purchased many items from Amazon over the years - and many worth a great review - but didn't bother. This item however, truly wanted to get the word out, especially to those who regularly experience outages during cold fall/winter and misery that comes with.

It is good as advertised but it is very slow to heat water so it requires patience.Make sure your cigarette lighter jack has large gauge wiring because this is a high consumption device and the factory wiring in car will overheat very quick. In my personal opinion you need a dedicated cigarette lighter jack to avoid damage to one that comes with the car.Otherwise it is a good product.
