This is not a Deadpool costume… it is a shield and nothing more. Stupid

Saw some of the reviews and was hesitant but it did not disappoint. My son really wanted this and now I am a little jealous. Turned out exactly as hoped.

To start things off I'd like to say the company selling this item is quite shady, I started the return process for this item 3 weeks ago due to the damage the paint received while shipping, you can see the bubble wrap marks in the paint in the photos. I say I started the process 3 weeks ago, but the company only just now (the day of writing this review) updated the return info, in the info for the return they deny any responsibility for the item, saying I made the purchase by mistake and that the fault is mine. This is completely untrue, I started the return because of the damage, and all be it a frivolous purchase, I did make it on purpose. They ordered me to process my own return label, stating they would refund me later, this is something I don't trust at all, and I have a feeling it's against policy, I'll me contacting Amazon support directly if they try to give me any sort of run around, I'll be sure to update this review when that happens.Now about the shield itself (all packaging damage aside), the over all quality is pretty mid, the main body of the shield is okay, but has a couple small dents, and the edge is curled nicely with no sharp edges. The paint work could be better, as the rings are good enough, but the eyes leave a lot to be desired, if it wasn't for the bubble wrap damage it would really just be unclean edges and corners. You really start to see the quality of how it's built from the back side, the brackets holding the straps appear to be made from scrap metal, has very rough cuts to the metal and is bolted down with rusty hardware. The straps looked nice I'm sure, before they put them on the shield and spray painted, you can see paint all over the straps, my guess is they did touchup sprays when it was done to cover up rust. Weight is okay, but reaks of paint.A couple things to recap, the rust on this item makes it unsafe, and shouldn't have been sold as new. When doing a return that isn't handled by Amazon, the sellers are given 5 days to update the order with a shipping label, this seller took 3 weeks to tell me that nothing about this is their fault and that I need to cover the shipping cost to return their mistake, claiming they will refund me the cost later, you know, if they don't ghost me once the item is in transit.
