Wood Owl, located in Miki, Japan, has specialized in the production of drill and auger bits for the woodworking industry since 1923. While the factory is highly mechanized, many of the operations are still performed by hand by highly skilled workers. These bits are precision milled and ground producing bits that are perfectly concentric with very little wobble. They will drill accurate diameter holes, require less energy to power through wood and produce less heat. They will also drill straight and true through all types of wood with minimal wandering. These Woodowl self-feeding wood boring bits have up to a 50 percent wider cutting tooth surface for added stability and truer holes. The chamfered back edge makes it easier to extract the bit from the work. The sharp lead screws are also precision ground and machined providing a consistent feed rate and allowing bits to start immediately into wood once the drill is started. These bits are made from high-carbon S55C steel specially designed for Woodowl bits. All cutting edges are fully induction hardened to 58 HRC. These bits features 7/16" quick release hex shanks for fast bit change-outs with secure gripping surfaces in drill chucks. Shaft extensions are available up to 24" long. Replacement lead screws are also available. Bits are available in sizes from 1 inch up to 4-5/8 inches. Bits comes in plastic storage tubes to protect when not in use. Bits can be resharpened.
