Stopped working after 2 months
Its a good portable soldering iron but mine stopped working after 2 months. Soldered about 40 wires total.

I do a modest amount of electronics fabrication and repair and have two commercial-quality Weller solder stations that I use all the time. However, on our ranch I often have a need to solder equipment away from our main shop area, and this requires long extension cords or portable power stations, or both. I also have a bundle of Makita knock-off 21V 4 Ahr batteries for running leaf blowers, pressure washers, and angle grinders, for example. This little solder station looked like a perfect fit for use with our existing batteries and our need for remote soldering. First thing I did was power it up and compare its performance to my expensive Weller professional-grade units. The Weller heats up in 30 seconds, I think this one beat it, but the key point is this Makita-based unit is very fast heating. I also compared the flexibility of the cords connecting to the soldering pencil...the Weller is a bit softer, but the cord on this Makita-based unit is quit limber, quite comfortable to work with. In comparing the soldering tips, the two units have nearly identical nice narrow pencil tips that are good for electronics work. Having solid closed-loop control of tip temperature is a must, and this unit does this very nicely including a digital readout of the temperature. Since I already have a Weller pencil holder with sponges, I checked it out with the Makita-based unit, and Makita-based pencil fits perfectly. The Makita-based unit's BIG advantage is its nice compact size and total portability. However, as a small nit, I find it more convenient to have the pencil cord attach to the front of the unit, not to the back...I'd reposition it on this unit so the temperature reads correct from the cord side. Bottom Line...works like a professional unit...at a VERY reasonable cost! Nice job!

Arrived early but without soldering iron bit, fortunately I already had a spare. Iron holder is a bit poor but works, not entirely safe. The wiping sponge is loose as supplied with nothing to attach it to the stand. DIY kit. But it works well. This link is for spare bits that fit OK, https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B091CTBS16?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

By far the best cheap tool I have ever bought. I don't expect much when buying no name tools especially when they don't cost much. This thing is fantastic, it heats super fast (325 degrees in 45 seconds) , way faster than my Weller corded soldering station. It has a small tip perfect for circuit boards or automotive wires. It has a nice digital read out that seems pretty accurate. I used it for 15 minutes on a 5 amp battery and it still had full battery bars. I only solder once or twice a month so i am not an every day user but i am going to make this thing my first choice iron because of the fast heating, small tip and portability. I hope this thing has a good life span but I am not sure because I have only used it 3 times so far. I totally recommend it and have bragged to my friends about it. For $30ish bucks its a incredible bargain!
