Better then normal disposable test kits
Im writing this review because I believe this product has a lot of biased reviews which might set people like me that were weary of buying.First of all it works great is accurate for pH and chlorine with little to or no error. You just need to make sure that you fallow the instruction as requested. IE: soak the probe in 8oz of water for 24hrs before use, calibrate the probe with the solution provides as instructed, and wash the probe before and after use.We have test strips and a water chemistry kit and used to compare results and more often the reader was equally if not more accurate then both.I believe that this product has had negative reviews due to misuse. We have tested our water, aquarium, and spa without a problem. Only thing is have some test strips on had to ensure accuracy if calibration starts falling off just to be sure.I know this sounds counter productive so what we did was keep the priming solution premixed in a sealable jar as we just recalibrate once every other week of consistent use and everything is fine. Its not a cheap tester but in the long run will save you quite a bit.Hope this helps

A Junk product with a false one year warranty.
I have bought two of these. The first one was an open box from Amazonthat did not work. Returned for a refund. The second one was new in thebox. It sat for two weeks while I had a new salt system installed on my pool.I opened it up and followed the directions. I used it maybe 8 times. The displaywent out. I contacted the seller and was told no refund. The meter has a 1 yearwarranty and I returned it for repair/replacement as directed by the manufacturer. They contacted me and said the damage was not covered. I contacted them and askedthem to reconsider. Once again they said the display was not repairable but theywould sell me another one at their cost of $144. I passed on that deal. I stronglyrecommend that you avoid this product at all cost as it is too expensive for whatit does and you have to buy buffer tablets to calibrate it every two months. That wasn’t mentioned in the description of the meter. Used 8 times so it costme about $20 per test. No support from the manufacturer whatsoever.

Soak, Calibrate, Follow the directions—works great
Hesitated because so many bad reviews but suspected folks were unhappy who expected it to be like a test strip. It’s not. It’s got to be calibrated and kept moist. Lots of blogs online for laboratory technicians make clear what it takes to get good readings from these electronic sensors. I’m finding my readings are consistently better than the pool store and the pool guy I pay to do this stuff. Not cheap and also requires you to pay attention to the directions and routinely calibrate. But if you are willing to pay and do your part, it’s an excellent piece of equipment.

Hi and Low readings aren't the best measure but its pretty effective otherwise
Hi and Low readings aren't the best measure but its pretty effective otherwise. The online calculator could be a lot more useful in terms of what needs to be added to balance a pool also.

It's Awesome!
The SafeDip worked as advertised. I ran a test of my pool water and wrote down my values. Inputted the values in the online calculator and right away I knew if I had to add chemical(s) to the pool water. I then took a water sample to my local pool store and had them test the water for me. As it turns out, my SafeDip numbers matched exactly to the expensive store tester. One drawback as when entering the values in the online calculator, the display has a tendency of powering off requiring me to power back on.

Very practical, accurate and easy to use
Very practical, accurate and easy to use. I am surprised ! had my doubts because I tried some other electronics, but this really does the trick.Checked measures of salt, chlorine and PH with drops, strips and salt also with a simple salt electronic, all match.Love having the last reading available just turn it on, turn off automatically, I just leave it in the table ! no more oh, what was it ?.I tend to forget to buy drops and that, so this makes my life simpler. I love automation, so a salt system and this makes be very happy.

Did not work for long
Used once and the next season the display was dead. (Yes, I changed the batteries)

If you are looking for an easy process, this is NOT it
My machine was defective. That aside, I thought this would be an easy answer to pool testing. This is NOT it. You have to soak it for 24 hours. Then you need to purchase de-ionized water and buffer solution powder/tabs. You create a buffer solution and calibrate (which has to be done fairly often). When I was finally ready to test, the numbers on my screen only partially displayed and were unreadable. I finally ordered a Taylor test kit, and that process was no more complicated than the one for this device.
