Swimming Creatures™ Assorted Nerite Snails (10 Pack) Freshwater Live Aquarium Snails

This purchase included a great variety of snails in both size and coloration. All of them made the journey quite alive, and were active within 24 hours (some in much less time). They have done a great job is significantly reducing the algae in my 33 gallon tank, in fact did such a great job I plan to buy more for another tank.Nerite snails require brackish water, and so won’t multiply like other snails when placed in a freshwater tank. They do lay visible eggs, however they have zero impact on the water quality.

These guys are awesome! They cleaned my shrimp tank in one night. The tank was pretty bad.

All snails arrived alive in spite of FedEx leaving them in the mailbox (in a FedEx envelope *with a large label "DO NOT LEAVE IN MAILBOX!!!!" stuck to the top of the envelope. Had I realized it would be shipped FedEx I probably wouldn't have purchased. This isn't the first time. FedEx is the worst. It seems malicious at this point. Regardless, all snails are alive and active. Took off one star because they don't have an assortment of color like I expected based on the picture. All the same dark brown. Some with muted black/gray stripes or dots. No bright colors among my group of ten. Was hoping for a nice "assortment" of color, but it's just an assortment of brown. Nevertheless, they're doing the job right away cleaning the tank so it's all good.

I ordered 10 snails and received 14, they did not come in water but rather on a wet paper towel which surprised me, but I've never ordered snails online before. Most looked dead when I got them but from previous experience I know they sometimes look a little wonky when wet, but out of water. These snails are notorious for climbing out of tanks with out lids. I put the snails, face down,into a smal clear container and started the acclimation process by just barely covering the bottom of the container, I then allowed water to drip into the container using an airline slightly tied on one end until the container was filled about 3/4 of the way, this took about 15-20 minutes. I then put them into the aquarium on the substrate, face down, turned off the lights and went to work for 12 hours with my fingers crossed, so far all but 2 snails have moved, movement means they are alive in my tank as it's got low flow and no fish right now. Even if these 2 don't make it, I am still overall very pleased and would recommend purchasing from this seller, they know what they are doing for shipping and even include directions for acclimation and what to do in case there are DOA.

1/3 arrived dead, half of the remaining died within next few weeks. (In the same tank I keep nerite snails for more than a year, they are doing just fine).

Unfortunately most of the snails that arrived were dead, but given that they sometimes just need time to wake up in the tank, you can’t really figure out if they’re DOA or just stunned from transit. So I gave them the week to adjust…I think only 3 of this batch actually survived the trip. Very disappointing. While the variety shipped was good, the only survivors were the larger tiger striped ones. Not worth the money this time.

So far it's been 24 hours and they seem to be doing well. Ordered the ten pack got 14 of variouse sizes and varieties. None seemed to be dead on arrival will keep an eye on the two that haven't moved very far but the rest seem to be enjoying their new home!! Will update if anything goes drastically wrong.

Totally love this order. Because they where packed super well and with care. I order 10, they sent 13. When they got here, i floted them for 30 min and they let them out in a little huddle. Its been super fun watching thr snail travel around our tank. My axolotl think they are just stones. But they are great addtion to the tanks ecosystem.
