Must have a WiFi signal, must be charged everyday
This product has really helped me with my anxiety, I can now sleep better knowing my baby is safe. It’s fantastic value for money (we got this item on sale) it’s quite easy to set up and lasts up to 16 hours. It has 2 sizes of sock which is really helpful. You need a good WiFi signal for it to work as well as Bluetooth. It monitors breathing and heart rate too, it’s very accurate and also says when your child is awake, light sleeping or deep sleeping.

Not compatible with newer WiFi Systems. (Could not get it to work with Eero 6 Pro E)
As a new parent for a 3 day old baby, I was excited to get this set up and ready to use. The data it was going to provide through the app looked very useful and would have definitely given a peace of mind, especially for my partner who wanted to keep an eye on our baby 24/7. The first few steps of the process were quick and simple. To paraphrase: 1. Downloaded the app. 2. Followed the on screen instructions. i. Find the local wifi network for the sock and connect it to the home wifi. ii. Once connected to the home wifi, the phone has to find the device in the network- this is where it fell apart. After retrying 2ii several times unsuccessfully, which by the way the app itself admittedly prompts ‘might require several attempts’, I have decided to reset the device and repeat the process. This was also unsuccessful. I went to search the manual, and any sources I could find online to discover that they only connect to 2.4ghz frequency and suggests to set the router to exclusively operate on 2.4ghz while setting up the sock. Eero app fortunately had this feature available, where it temporarily limits all signals to 2.4ghz for 10 minutes. It was yet another trial and error ordeal. All to no avail. At this point, after wasting over an hour straight trying, I decided to calmly pack it up, not stress out about it anymore than I have, and process a return. Maybe take up voodoo classes I don’t believe in to get back at Owlet’s engineers. At the end of the day I may have made some errors, but I can’t see where and how from retracing my steps. I can only speak from my experience and I definitely do not recommend this product. This device was just not meant to be, it seems.

Peace of mind
Gave me so much peace of mind , but it is expensive. Setting up was a nightmare but once it was set up it’s super easy to use.

Great help to anxious new parents
A great tool to help give peace of mind to new parents, expensive but has given the new parents a window into the sleep patterns of their baby. It was fairly easy to set up too.

Initial Connection Issues, Workaround.
I am editing to improve my review of the Owlet Dream Sock, initially giving it a rating of 1 out of 5. There are significant user experience issues with initial connection between this device and WiFi systems, I would suspect that this affects the majority of new users. Also, to confirm this review relates specifically to Apple devices, I am not sure if this is the same for Android etc. However, there is a workaround solution for the initial connection issues for those who don't give up straight away. The workaround solution is found on the Owlet Help Center by searching 'Owlet Dream Sock connecting to WiFi using a mobile browser' on Google. It baffles me how Owlet do not provide this information to new users. After the initial connection issues, this product has so far shown reliability and provides great peace of mind. I am sure that if Owlet fixed their initial user experience issues, their overall rating on Amazon would skyrocket to 4.5 out of 5 or above.

Perfect for peace of mind
As a first time mum who suffers with anxiety, this has been amazing at providing peace of mind! I dont feel the need to be constantly checking in which helps me sleep better. Its easy to use though the sensor is quite sensitive and makes a lot of noise if it isnt on perfectly which can be a bit annoying in the middle of the night with a wriggly baby! Battery lasts all night and several fits provided, baby never seems to mind it being on. I love that the app also records the baby’s sleep and wakings during the night, great for showing the partner how many wakings theyve slept through!

Very poor connectivity, awful app to use
There is no straightforward way to connect it to wifi, the app is very slow freezing multiple times. I had to contact support or return it An UPDATE! Finally, I was able to set up it , the app is extremely buggy ! Based on the following issues, I assume the product is either faulty or, if this is the way it works, then it is absolutely useless and goes against its advertisement that says parents get better sleep. Instead, I get much, much, much less sleep because of loads of false yellow alarms coming from the base during the night. While the base and the smart sock on the baby are less than 2-3 meters apart, during the night we randomly get multiple yellow alerts regarding difficulty reading the sensor or Bluetooth (BT) connectivity issues (the range between the base and sock is very close so very strange), and then it goes back to normal again! I cannot find a way to mute these kinds of notifications from the base and mobile app during the night, which causes a lot of disruption to our sleep. I had to completely shut down the base to get sleep! It seems the sock has become useless. Can you advise what is the solution to these issues?1- Why do I randomly get a yellow warning regarding difficulty reading (it can read again shortly after 2-3 warnings)?2-Why does the BT randomly disconnect, and again I get those annoying yellow warnings during the night? A nightmare! (It comes back again shortly after 2-3 warnings)3-How can I mute the yellow warning notifications on the base or mobile app? those false alarms are very annoying.

Really recommend
Wow really recommend, my c section baby still had a lot of mucus but also has reflux bad! This just give us the peace of mind of his oxygen, it’s never dropped. Just a tip for setting it up We found that setting it up with an iPhone on the WiFi didn’t work but my partner used his Samsung phone with the app and it worked straight away then I could just log in and it would work automatically for me, (he doesn’t need to be in the house for me to use it) but we get notifications even when one of us is at work which is good! The battery life is great, we got this on a Black Friday deal with babywish list 15% off amazing value! There different size socks for as they grow which is ideal for when they will get ill.
