with some minor tlc this is an amazing purchase. frets needed polished and cleaned which isn’t a hard fix and the tuning holes needed barely widened which is way better than them being too big. fit is perfect and the binding quality is superb for the price. well worth the money for any diy builder. The wood used for the neck is absolutely beautiful and the neck is nice and straight with a functional truss rod. But the frets are crazy uneven and need a ton of work to level them out, it's not a huge issue but I was surprised no one else mentioned this in the reviews. Maybe mine just isn't very good. Also the tuner holes don't line up perfectly with the nut so you end up with your strings not being straight at the top and I was having a problem with the g string popping off the nut so I suggest getting a 3 string string tree to help with that if you buy one of these necks. Overall not bad for $70 but I wouldn't pay more for this neck

This unfinished maple neck is perfect for my next build. The frets are well done, no sharp edges on the sides. The fret markers are beautifully installed and the fretboard has an interesting grain running along the length of the neck. Very nice quality and a very nice price.

This neck was the perfect replacement for my old one. My bass guitar feels brand new now.
