Very cool model but read below please.
I purchased this on February 9th, 2025. I gave it 5 stars because I can't give it 4.5 stars. Just finished today with my brother who lives an hour away and only built it with him. I build a lot of models...plastic, wood, metal, you name it. The half star loss would be because when I received it and started to work it, it smelled REALLY EXTREMELY BAD of production chemicals, bad enough it burned my eyes and really agitated my sinuses. I set the pieces out in my unfinished basement for about 2-3 weeks to let them air out. A lot of pieces are really tiny; it can be frustrating. A LOT of the details you build with it, and there is a tremendous amount of detail in this build, in the beginning get lost in later detail. That is the bad. The good is this is such a detailed, warm model that is well manufactured, cut, imaginative and creative. It is beautiful and so full of really cool detail! The pieces fit together 98% perfectly, well-engineered, measured and cut in good, solid pieces of material that are easily identifiable with the added illustrations of what is what. The smaller pieces can be difficult, the tweezers (included) were immensely helpful; the dinosaur skeleton was a pain in the tookas and had problems with it throughout the build, my "T-Rex" was half wood, half plastic. They include duplicates of the more prone to breaking parts, thumbs up on that. Majority of the "books" were a small piece of wood with a sticker to apply and fold over it, maybe 200 of them? So cool though! Some stickers were of actual books, there was Harry Potter, Phantom of the Opera and so many more to display as you see fit in certain areas. I recommend a lighted magnifying glass and/or a magnifying headset...some of the fittings are literally a millimeter. The small glass Earth globe is beautiful and amazing. Just an enjoyable model to proudly put on your bookshelf or wherever you can safely put it. It is a TEDIUS build. Expect to put some real time into the build and (I think) visitors will really enjoy looking at it because there is SOOO much to look at. The lighting is good. No missing pieces, extras left over. I was frustrated with some of the build but overall...it was enjoyable and viewing it after completion is even more enjoyable. Have fun!

Beautiful, sleekly finished kit - perfect for a younger group due to its simple construction
A very well made book nook. There were no missing pieces and the instructions were clearly written and illustrated. There are a lot of little details in the nook to look for: telescopes, shuttle, DNA strand, ship model, and of course the dinosaur. But don't be fooled by the all the detail, this kit is simple. Only a few pieces need to be glued, most everything else just slots into place. Now some of the trim around the upper edges can take a moment to get the right order of placement so that they lock each other in. My suggestion on this kit is NOT to glue anything unless they say so or at the very end if you want to "firm" things up.It is a beautiful kit and I would recommend it for a younger crowd because of the slotting. Everything is pre-cut - even the 10 million books and covers (which are stickers). The only dress up I did to this kit was to touch up some of the individual exhibits with markers (when they were printed on only one side). I tend to dress up the edges and backs so I don't have raw wood.It is an expensive kit. Is it worth that much? It is hard to say. It was nice not to have to cut out all those books covers, etc.

JUST AMAZING!
I order from Amazon frequently (pretty much DAILY), but I only post reviews when a product is either exceptional or disappointing. Fortunately, this kit falls into the former category—it's outstanding!I’m no newbie to building things, I’ve built 6-ft long flying scale helicopters that have appeared on magazine covers. I thought, “A $40 dollar wood kit? How detailed could it be?”I bought it anyway.I was pleased at the quality when I first opened it. It came with a decent set of tweezers, a tube of B-7000 adhesive, and a tiny emery board. “No matter,” I thought, “I’ve got nearly every modelling tool known to mankind.” It turns out—the ONLY additional item I used in assembly—was a TOOTHPICK. (It helps get all the little books aligned on the shelves.)Each book is a tiny block of wood, and they give you sheets of die-cut, self-adhesive stickers to wrap around them like slipcovers. Some of these covers are tiny reproductions of actual books, although you’ll only see the spines of 99% of them. The parts are obviously cut by laser, although I’m AMAZED at the precision. Most of the tabs have expansion slits that are thinner than a sheet of paper. The parts remain attached to the carrier boards by the tiniest of contacts, yet they stay firm until needed. They pop out with a thumbnail, and that’s where the little emery board comes in; to file off any ‘nubs.’ This does leave spots, and I found that the CHERRY marker from the “Rejuvenate EXACT MATCH Wood Furniture & Floor Repair Markers” set is almost a perfect match, and I touched them all up!The clear parts have a film that is so evenly applied, I initially thought they were simply matte. Peeling off the protective film, I was shocked at the clarity of the parts. This kit is first-class all of the way.One warning: While the instructions are clear, concise, and exact in EVERY way, there is almost NO text. The instructions come as a series of “Illustrated Parts Breakdowns,” the kind you see in service manuals, or online when you search for appliance parts. The manual is color—pay attention to the shading to make sure your parts are oriented properly. Remember, you can see only one side of them, the other side MAY be unfinished. The printing on the parts is also impressively done. Registration on all components was spot-on.I love this thing!
