Perfect for a bedroom
Works perfectly for my bedroom with the door closed. Cools it down quickly on the hottest summer days. Aside from having to empty out the water drain every hour, being pretty darn loud, and having to use the remote because sometimes the buttons on the unit not working, it's a great ac that's worth the price.

Must needed Item for the summer!
This portable AC was packaged very securely, though I initially got confused and tore the side of the box—turns out you just need to cut the four outer straps and lift the box straight up, then cut two more inside to access the accessories. Setup was quick and easy, but make sure to let the unit sit upright for at least six hours (ideally 24) before turning it on. The BTU labeling is a bit confusing—the listing says 8,500 BTU while the unit sticker says 5,100—but despite that, it cooled my 12x14 ft sunlit office quickly and effectively. I really like the tall, cube-shaped design with a square base; it’s compact and fits easily on or under a desk. The included window vent panel wasn’t long enough for my 47-inch-wide sliding window, which may be common in older homes, though I used my 3D printer’s vent system instead. Functionality is basic but solid, with two fan speeds, cooling, fan, and dehumidifier modes, and everything accessible from both the control panel and remote. Noise level is totally manageable—more like a deeper white noise than an annoying hum—and transitions between modes are smooth, not jarring. Energy usage is estimated at $71/year, which seems fair, and it includes a card for registering an extended warranty. Overall, this is a reliable, affordable AC unit that’s easy to set up, performs well, and fits nicely in compact spaces.

Was great for 1 day
As per instructions, I let the unit sit upright for 24 hours (actually more) before plugging it in and turning it on. It worked great the 1st day and I was a very happy camper. The 2nd day it was a little louder. Next day, louder still. I am now on my 5th day of it running and there is such an awful rattle when the compressor comes on that I have had to reach out to the seller. If they don't respond, it's going back.Oh... and it cycles on and off A LOT.On the plus side, it does blow really cold air, was easy to set up, and occupies little space. Thus, the generosity of 2 stars.UPDATE: After contacting the seller, they are sending a replacement unit. Will update this review once I have had it for a few days.NEWER UPDATE: unit is working great! Super happy with the seller and the product!

VERY effective. Great price, reliability, and performance. I feel like I made the best choice.
It's been reliably heating and cooling my living space which is beyond the unit's rated square feet by 10-15%--and it keeps the space dry doing both. I have no complaints at all. I use a 3-gallon bucket to collect the water from the tube in the back. If your space is humid or it hasn't run in a while, it will pull water from the air. Keeping your space dry will slow the drain rate down considerably and you can use something much smaller. I don't run it on the high fan speed often because I really don't feel like I need to. Low or medium is usually enough, even with a somewhat larger space, which helps keep the sound below the listed decibels. I would recommend it to anyone looking for what it does. The value, effectiveness, reliability, and price made it the best value to me and I feel I made the right choice.
