Nice printer, but terrible service with Delivery
I purchased this printer from the Amazon resale department. I was reluctant to buy used but was pleased with the condition when I opened it. The printer was very easy to set up. It works good, prints fast and looks nice. No complaints at all with the printer. The one thing I do have a major complaint about is the shipping. It was supposed to be delivered on a Tuesday. Tuesday came Tuesday evening. I hadn’t received the printer and got a message that it was delayed by the carrier facility. The same situation and message came in Wednesday as well as Thursday and Friday. I eventually got it. I called Amazon because each day I had to takeoff from work because it needed to have a password on Delivery. Amazon would not remove the requirement of the password so the item could be delivered so I lost four days pay because of the shipping issue. I would give one star to the shipping from the company. I believe this come from Hewlett packet directly into Amazon‘s warehouse and then Amazon delivered it to me. Between Hewlett-Packard and Amazon I am less than impressed with the service of the delivery.

Product quality
Great printer fast copier, Sharpness isn't super for a laser printer but the price reflects that. Great home printer and copier with USB capability , copier and wireless printing all wrapped in one. Great printer for the money. The paper tray resize tabs are weak. Knowing that one just takes care in resizing from 8.5X11 to 8.5x14.

Quality HP Product
My wife and I have always used ink based printers. We cringed when we'd get the signal indicating 'low ink' because it meant we had to shell out another chunk of money for an XL cartridge that really didn't last that long. I knew that laser printers were more economical in that regard so kept that in the back of my mind for years. This printer came up as a special deal and it had pretty decent reviews. That was one of the things that prevented me from pulling the trigger on purchasing a laser printer in the past....always scary reviews about their function, quality, product support, etc. Made the purchase and although we've only had it for a few months now, we are loving it. Very easy to set-up, connects quickly and connection hasn't broken which seemed to be an issue for many products. It prints very well and quickly. We are very pleased with our purchase so far. It will be interesting to see how long the cartridge lasts. It supposedly has 3X the lifespan of our XL ink cartridges and its price-point is almost identical.

Really a 4.5 Star Review
I've had this printer for more than a year now, and I love it. I've put it through it's paces numerous times when I've need to print off just 1 or 100 or more pages all a time. Being able to print from USB to the printer is amazing. Sending a doc from my laptop or my phone is very valuable, especially when I only want one page of a 20 page PDF. SCAN AUTO-FEEDER: I love the auto doc feeder for the scanner. It works well, and I have learned not to put a huge number of pages in the feeder as too many will cause paper jams. I recommend no more than 25 sheets or so, this will help prevent paper jams. NOISE: some have stated it's noisy. The noise when considering printer speed is reasonable IMHO. If you're looking for something super quiet, you're going to be spending upwards of $500. There are always trade-offs. I've had my printer print 100 pages or more from PDF files using the duplex feature (front and back) and the noise has never been annoying, especially when compared to the dog next door barking incessantly all day long. There is a feature in the settings that allows you to set it for a softer noise emission, but I've never noticed much of a difference. TONER: This is the one thing I did not like about the printer. HP now uses software to check if you're using their toner or an off brand. I can't remember for certain, but I believe the printer will stop working until you insert an HP toner cartridge. At the very least, I'm pretty sure it will void the printer warranty. I've been using a generic toner for FAR less money than HP's toner. Now, because of HP encoding the chip to confirm authenticity, I just decline to do the firmware updates as IIRC the software can read the chip to see whether or not you have the HP authorized chip on the toner. As a result, I just decline the firmware updates and use the cheaper toner, which I've used for years and it's NEVER given me any headaches. Literally NONE, and I used it on my previous HP, which I retired because I needed duplexing, scanner, and auto-feed capability. WI-FI CONNECTIVITY - I have had issues with the Internet dropping from the printer, and I've had to reset it. However, YouTube has a number of very helpful videos about this specific printer (and others) with great tips or step-by-step instructions or both when it comes to fixing connectivity problems. But it's important to note that whenever your internet connection does any kind of surge (even though you might not notice if your working) it can occasionally cause the disconnect. I've had to spend an hour sometimes reconnecting because I keep forgetting to save the links to the helpful video I used. When looking for videos, most will refer to this printer, but even the fix all printers or FDW printer videos will work. Basically, if you follow the set-up directions by reading them before you do anything, you're likely to save time. Overall, I this is a good printer. I've always bought HP printers because they've lasted me a long time. The longest was about 12 years before I bought a more updated model. That said, as time moves on and technology becomes more complex, all the components now in printers makes it more likely to make it seem like the printer's not any good. It's not necessarily the printer, it's the technology getting more complicated. So take poor reviews with a grain of salt. After one year, it's still going strong, and it's been through one house move. I did keep the box though to pack it in. Might be advisable to hang onto the box in case it does fail and you need to ship it for warranty coverage.

It just works
Two things. First, it was so simple to install and setup I am still in shock. Second, it just works. Best printer I have bought in years.

THE NUMBER ONE REASON NOT TO BUY THIS PRINTER
HP has gone to a nuclear option to prevent you from buyiing after market toner. They've embedded chips in their toner catridges and agressively update the printer's firmware to prevent the use of ALL after market toner. You can buy it for a Good Price, but you will be locked in to using HP brand toner forever. Secondly, the build quality is flimsy. It looks great, but the paper tray flexes when you hold it in one hand. I attempted set up the printer before I returned it. I kept getting an error "No paper in the tray". When troubleshooting this issue, I discovered HPs move to punish the consumer using technology. Since returning this printer, I bought new rollers and a a new fuser unit for my existing laser printer. Took less than 25 min start to finish to complete. Youtube videos were very helpful. I couldn't be happier with the results.; it's as good as NEW. I have no less than 5 other legacy printers in my home and office. When they need a facelift, I'll do the same with these!

Good all-in-one printer. Easy setup. Good printing quality, clear, sharp and fine. The wireless printing function is convenient for printing from multiple devices in same house/family/office without the need of a printing cable. When replacing toners be careful that the printer uses toner cartridge with chips which can detect the toner cartridge type and may reject some none HP compatible cartridges.

Easy to use and so far very reliable. The only con is long start up time.
