Needed to test my water here in Florida and this device is so easy to use. I have a filtration system at one of my sinks which I wasn't sure was still operating at optimum level. I did a test of that system compared to my regular sink and results were incredible. It confirmed that my filtration system was still doing its job and that the water at the sink was not suitable for drinking. The device is easy to use and quick. Inexpensive and works great.

Wife was getting sucked into the hype of a certain (expensive) water filter system which was supposed to create zero dissolved solids water from our tap. After reading mixed reviews about the very short filter life of those models, I decided to invest a few bucks to test my current water to see if I needed it. Got the meter and tested my water out of the tap and it was 48, which the chart shows as fairly soft water and equivalent to a carbon filtered system. Ran the water through an inexpensive filter pitcher and got a reading of 37. Clearly we were good enough to avoid the cost of the "zero" filter system. I can only guess how many dollars I saved by spending a few bucks on this meter. It is very easy to use and the results were repeatable, so I trust it is accurate.

Great product. Durable and accurate. One of the most highly used gadget in the kitchen to check the water quality. This is the second one we own in our household. Highly recommended.

A nice cheap effective TDS meter. Def shocked and glad I bought this because my tap water was 450+ PPM/TDS. Terrible for watering. My family doesn't drink tap anyways but I use it for other stuff. Basically my city water is unusable lol just good for surviving. Need a chlorine filter for the shower even. Anyways ramble over, THE BACK LIGHT IS SUCH A SIMPLE ADDITION BUT HELPS SO MUCH! The hold function is cool too, just wish a Ph meter would come out just like this. The other Ph meters suck, aren't accurate, lose calibration, no light or hold function so you have to try to read them at an angle in the water lol. Anyways this things solid, must buy if you garden or care at all about your health and you use tap water. ( from a city or a well/aquifer )

I thought my tap water was tasting funny, so I got this to test it. Within 2 minutes of opening it, I found out my tap water is actually okay and it just tastes funny (but it’s nice to know it’s potable). It’s super easy to use, literally only takes a couple seconds to test. Just for fun, I also tested my water filter and bottled water. I don’t go hiking or camping, but this would probably be extremely useful for those types of scenarios.

Bought one back in November and it still working great! Decided to buy a second one for my brother in December and is must be a defect one. The reading is very inconsistent even though water is tested within the hour of each other. The number would jump from 18-140 with the same glass of water. Unfortunately, I forgot to submit the return within 30 days.

I’m growing chili peppers hydroponically. I need to test my TDS to ensure the proper nutrient concentration in the water. This tool measures the TDS, EC, and temperature (both C and F). It appears to be accurate as far as I can tell. I tested our tap water and the screen turned red and showed the PPM over 600 (?!?). Then I tested our filtered water from the fridge which has a cheap filter and it was still red and over 600 ppm. Next it tested bottled water from the dispenser and it was around 300. Finally, I tested some distilled water and it read 0. The controls are easy: on/off/hold (which only holds the PPM/EC, not the temp), clear, and mode (to switch between PPM, EC, Temo C, and Temp F). The meter appears to be fairly consistent. I don’t have a good way to test the accuracy other than filtered water, but it’s certainly trustworthy enough for my purposes. The instructions claim that the TDS calculation compensates for temperature, and I believe that since it reads temperature. I do wish there was a way to get the raw EC value because the conversion factor has a large dependence on the type of solids suspended in the water. From what I’ve read, you need to be careful not to submerge too much of the meter so that water won’t come into contact with the internal electronics. I haven’t tested this, but keep the water between the min/max levels and be careful not to drop into the water.
