This thing started zapping bugs as soon as I plugged it in. I hung it away from the areas in back yard that we are usually using so bugs will go to light instead near us. I like the additional light on the bottom. Since the place I hung it is near a gate the light makes it easy to open and close. Only thing that would have been nice is for the bottom light to have a photo sensor for night and day so it would turn its self on and off but that’s just me. The zapper has worked very well at eliminating mosquitos and other flying pests. I would defiantly purchase again this brand again!! The unit is well made and durable. Easy to clean by removing the tray in the bottom with a twist. Great product!!!

Bug zapper killed many moths by my pond. Within a week i needed to clean out the cage. Slightly noisy butLightweight.

I’ve had mine up for about a week and a half, and it’s been working great! Our dogs were getting eaten alive by mosquitoes in our backyard this summer, and pet-safe sprays/coils just weren’t working.I put this thing up, and the first picture (UV light off) shows the results after just 4 days! It was full of moths, mosquitoes, stink bugs, flies, gnats, flying ants, and even regular ants (the regular ants got fried while trying to scavenge the corpses)!Walking through my backyard, there’s now a noticeable difference in the amount of mosquitoes. Before, I couldn’t walk out the door in the morning without having 5-10 buzzing around me, now I’ll see 1 or 2 after a few minutes.And it actually is waterproof! It’s rained very hard a few times since I’ve put it up, and it still works just fine.Cleaning it out is pretty straightforward, but I would recommend using a brush of your own to make the process a lot easier/quicker. The included brush works, but it’s not the best.And I’m not sure if the chain in the pictures is supposed to come with it, but mine didn’t. Not a big deal since I already planned on hanging it by the carrying handle on my shepherd hook anyway.Lastly, the user manual states that the light is not replaceable, and that you should dispose of the lamp once the light stops working. Initially, I was furious after reading this, as I had purchased two replacement bulbs (same brand) along with my order that said it was a direct replacement for this model.Rest assured, these bulbs DO fit and work, and they’re easy to replace. Just remove the bottom collection tray, then two small screws on the cover behind that, and you can access the old bulb.

This is my second bug zapper purchase in a week (live in an area with an abundance of horse flys & mosquitos).My first was a zapper for up to 2 acre coverage & it worked so well that I wanted a smaller one to hang out by the grill/porch area.This one covers half to one acre & is great for the area of porch that I need some bug control. Between the lights coming from all the bay windows and outdoor flood lights, the bugs come zooming in as soon as people step outside.This zapper has dramatically reduced the number of bugs! It's allowed us to grill out more comfortably & without dousing ourselves in bug spray.It has a nice long cord and a handle for hanging. I hung it from a Shepards hook mounted to the side of my deck.Very easy....no assembly required. Just pull it out of the box & plug it in.You'll be amazed at how quickly the number of bugs start to decline.It has made our time outside grilling & entertaining so much more enjoyable.Highly recommend!
