I ordered a second one of these after installing the first one for use on a patio door with a balcony. I did attach the uprights to the door trim on the building with U-clamps for added stability. They are well made and installation was no problem by myself, all pieces and parts present. While it is true, as I read in reviews and experienced, that water accumulates on the awning, it is easily corrected by lowering one side a couple of inches and water drains off well. I'm very happy with them.

Just what I needed to keep the sun out of my living room. The fabric is sturdy and the metal frame fits snugly. I've had zero issues with wind. Not only does the awning keep my deck in partial shade and keep my house cooler, but it adds charm to my outdoor space.I only wish there was an option to buy longer arms (like 5 feet) since there appears to be enough fabric to stretch over a greater space if the arm length would allow.I also had very little trouble assembling this awning. I'm a petite woman and did most of it myself. I even helped my neighbor put hers up when she saw how great mine was!

Would give this 4.5 rating if possible. Cream option is actually tan in color, which works for me. Instructions are extremely basic and could be significantly better. Assembly is easy, although mechanics of needing the arms to be loose and able to slide on supports is not well explained. It's possible 1 person could install, but 2 is recommended for ease and keeping awning in place while adjustments are made. Decent quality for the price.

Tried it for 6 months. Major issues1. It doesn’t employ tension rods so makes it almost impossible to correctly setup without expertise2. Took more than 3 hours to put together and setup and even then was incredibly unstable.3. Rain water stagnated on the awning leading to mold very quickly4. The crank handle to retract the awning gave out very quickly and was the final straw. We just pulled down the contraption and are junking it

I like the fact that it didn't have to be permanently installed on my house I needed some shade on my back porch,but it was too expensive for me to hire a someone to install a roof. This was under$200. And for a younger person, probably wouldn't have taken so long to put together. It took me almost 3 hours and a lot of patience, but I'm 73 years old. After assembly I had to contact my son in law to help me set it up outside. It looks great and glad that I purchased it. I hope it lasts a long time. If it looks like it's going to rain or very windy, I make sure to rollit up.************ It's been 3 months since instalation and I am extremely happy with my decision to make this purchase. I roll it up if I think it's going to rain or storm .It remains secure even through storms. I forgot to roll it up once and because it's water proof it collected water and would have caused damage from the weight of the water collecting.I'm thinking about purchasing another one to put in front of my garage. It would be great for shade while sitting outside in front or for yard sales.

I was looking for sun and rain cover for a portion of our back deck, not the entire deck. This awning fit our need perfectly. We have an overhang section on the second floor of our house, so the idea of setting up a free standing awning that we could secure from the overhang to the deck floor just made great sense. We went with the 13’ awning so that we could cover the back door and some cooking items (grill, griddle and pizza oven) and have protection from walking from the inside of our house to the deck. Box arrived from Amazon with the contents well packaged. Opening the box, I accounted for all the parts and laid them out on the deck to start assembling. With my wife’s help, the entire awning was assembled in 1.5 hours. We were in no rush and took our time to follow the directions in the booklet. Very easy to assemble with few tools needed. We did need two small ladders to stand on so that we could attach the awning to the support poles. Opening and closing the awning is simple and easy. You can also adjust the height of the side support arms. We really like this awning and again we’re happy to find this for what we were looking to add to our deck. Also, the price of this awning is a real steal!

First, this thing is easy to assemble, even with no experience. It can be a bit cumbersome for 1 person to assemble and move, but it's not impossible. The legs are well built, if a little lacking in any sort of "presets", I think just simple 1/4in apart stripes on the side of the legs would make proper setup much easier and quicker, rather than eyeballing it and adjusting.The joints and intersections are made of a softer plastic, which is good, especially for when parts bend out of place during installation, again 2 people is probably best for this, but I fear long exposure to the sun might cause issues later.Lastly, the handle for the adjuster works well, but I would have preferred a way to take it off for the season, rather than having to disconnect it from the top of the unit.

As I walked into my house today, I was so grateful for this cover. I have no awning over my front door in this product has held up in the Florida heat and weather. It does show somewhere but it’s been nearly 3 years and heavy wind. I lowered it, but left it outside. Maybe twice it actually blew down but was easy to put back up and has held up incredibly well. It gives a cover for packages and shades my front door as well. I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for this product so that others will know how good it really is. It’s not super high-quality, but it is very durable and does a good basic job of providing coverage and shade.
