Excellent trailcam - great motion sensing and pictures even at night - buy full sized SD
Important - purchase a full sized 32G SD card, not a micro - I bought Scandisc and it works great. A lot of thought went into this camera and there must have been improvements made as the things folks complained about in the feedback are not be an issue with this one. I've only had the camera for a short while so I can't speak to it's longevity but it seems solid enough. This camera is an absolute breeze to set up, I plugged in the SD card, set up the optional password, created a custom recording program and was ready to strap it to a tree in less than five minutes and I've never used a trail cam before. The instruction book was excellent. The strap is high quality, and long enough to strap around a decent sized tree. The camera is securely fastened, no chance of it falling off.The first night at midnight, it captured an unusual sight, a chipmunk dashing down a tree and racing back up. I didn't know chipmunks climbed trees or were active at night. The internet says not but I now have proof otherwise. The chipmunk moved so fast that at first I didn't even see it and wondered what had triggered the camera. I was really impressed the camera caught it on video - I watched the video in slow motion and had to pause in order to confirm that it was really a chipmunk. The chipmunk image was a little blurry but the tree and surroundings were very clear. Got some excellent deer foraging activity in the dark - very good images. No sign that the deer knew it was being filmed.I purchased a card reader that plugs into my phone so I can pop the card out in the field and look at the pics and videos on my phone, delete what I don't want and put it back in the camera. This camera does not have wifi or blue tooth - I wasn't interested in spending that much money. The card is easy to remove and install without removing the camera from it's position on the tree.Password feature is great (use it if you want it) - you can't do anything with the camera without first entering the password so if someone steals it they won't be able to use it or even take out the SD card or batteries. The camera is designed to accommodate a physical lock but I didn't buy a locking strap either. I did buy energizer lithium batteries because the camera worked well with my rechargeable alkaline batteries with no issues but the battery life was not great. The camera has a rubber gasket around the face so when it's closed, the water can't get in. It's been raining for days and no sign of fogging at all. The test feature is nice after setting up to see what range of motion is being detected. Also the pre-set recording features made it easy to turn on photo burst and check the images to make sure I had the lens lined up with what I wanted to see. I then switched it to my custom program and walked away.I set up for 10 second videos at 8 Megapixels and each took 13MB on the SD card. So 35 GB will go a long way.Extremely happy with this purchase and will soon know what's tearing up my lawn at night!!

Excellent choice for a trail cam
I bought this in tandem with a PIR detector for our driveway to serve as a poor person's home security system. The detector would alert us to people approaching our home when walking or driving down the driveway, and this would be mounted on the front porch to photo or video people as they approach the door. Secondarily, would be to photo animals in our back 3 acres. The unit is easy to setup if you have the recommended lithium batteries and SD card, which is the option I took. I did visit the hardware store to buy a small lock for the case. I am pleased with the operation of the unit. It has never failed in detection, and the photos are always clear (excepting the foggy night photos of deer in the backyard). I like the video mode, because it not only has nice clear video, but sound. It allowed me to review a salesman's pitch to my wife when I was away at work. Night pictures are normally clear, especially with the porch light.Downloading photos is a snap, just shut off, remove the SD card, and upload to a computer (I use a MacBook).A couple nitpicks; the provided strap leaves a little bit to be desired; I've been finding it a little difficult to get tightened round smaller diameter trees and the front porch post. Sometimes, if something's moving fast subject can be blurry.Pros: Easy setup, nice features, custom setups, video, photos are large (1.7M), include details on date, time and temp.Cons: Strap tightnessAside from the minor nits, I'm please with the unit. It's doing everything I wanted, and look forward to seeing what wanders around at night in the backyard (besides me walking the dog).8/5/2022 Update: I like to update things when they not only do what they claim, but last. This item has lasted for 6+ years, even after being unused for a couple. I moved last year, and recently set this up on a tripod to video a fox and her pups that took residence in my new yard. Worked awesome and had many videos of the pups coming out at night to play.

Very Pleased. Excellent results.
I am very happy with this purchase as the camera itself is small, solidly-built, and well-camouflaged. It is INCREDIBLY easy to set up and the battery life has been quite long: nightly use for about a month. I find the image quality to be very good for my purposes, which is shooting at close range...the goal was to see how many skunks were living under my deck. :-[ I have not yet used it for distance but the wide-angle lens should be effective if the motion is sufficient to trigger it. Nighttime images have been clearer than on some other trail-cams I've used in the past.
