Had it for a good few years now. Still going strong. Worth every penny
I have now owned my RC1200 for a good few years now, and am happy to report it is still going strong. I keep it in the garage filled with beer so always available without taking up space in my domestic fridge. When I go camping, usually to Le Mans or my RAF reunion in Wales it comes along it runs on gas and has performed a stirling job. Worth every penny I paid for it.

A fantastic portable fridge for camping
A fantastic product! I don’t normally write reviews but just had to on this occasion. We took the cool box with us to a music festival - we were camping in a tent for 4 days. The cool box kept all of our food beautifully refrigerated the whole time. Actually had to turn it down to start with as food was starting to freeze. We plugged it in to mains at home for 24 hours before we went and then used gas canisters when we were away. Placed the coolbox in our tent awning and it was just brilliant. Would definitely recommend! 5*

Excellent piece of kit.
Excellent piece of kit. Single gas cartridge lasted about 28 hours. Kept everything chilled even on hot days. In fact need to be careful where we placed the milk in the fridge as it froze even on minimum. In 10 days camping we used only 7 whole cartridges. Recommend.

No good it didn’t either deserve one star
This cooler is rubbish it couldn’t cool anything. I’ve used it last week for the first time on holiday. It’s rubbish I had to buy another cooler from a camping shop. I would like my money back please

Great product (Gas Canister Version) - but some room for improvement
Overall, a great product (Gas canister version). Have taken it camping twice now (camper van), and can safely say it does an excellent job on gas. The gas canisters last between about 21 to 26 hours depending on what setting you use. It gets properly 'domestic-fridge-cold' in there as long as you keep it in the shade and out of direct sunlight. On the downside, the 12v option requires an 8 amp draw, which can be dashboard-melting territory for some vehicles. I tried it on the cigarette socket of my big LWB van but got nervous when the 12v socket got extremely hot, so I decided to unplug it for the rest of the journey. The contents were still cool when I arrived, and once fired up on gas, it was very cold the next morning. You also have the issue of needing to keep the coolbox outside while it's running on gas. It does smell of 'hot gasses' if running in an enclosed space, so decent ventilation is essential. Also something to consider - as a camper van user, if I choose not to put up the awning, which can be a pain for a 1-nighter, I still have to keep the coolbox outside, so hence need a way to house it. So far I have used a cheap pop-up shower tent which sort-of works okay unless it's windy and then the tent blows away! If anyone has any ideas for an alternative outdoor coolbox enclosure, it might help me and others if you could post your suggestions here :o) Pros... It works! It gets food really cold and makes ice cubes It's quite affordable It has a big capacity and you can stand 2L bottles upright and still close the lid. Con's It can be really heavy, especially when full. The 12v system requites a LOT of current (8A) see notes above It produces a "hot gasses" exhaust smell when running on gas It's the wrong shape to fit into many spaces (it's square and bulky) - A rectangle shape would have been a more user-friendly design. As far as I can tell, it's currently the only one on the market that uses gas canisters

Excellent fridge used on 240v 12v and Gas
Excellent fridge used on 240v 12v and Gas .12v works best for me but it's handy just to keep a gas cartridge connected . Only issue is when running on gas the top plastic vent melted so just cut it off . This a bad design flaw which may bother some people .

works very well and it's quite best if you run it on electric to get it ...
This fridge is ideal for my boat, works very well and it's quite best if you run it on electric to get it cold before you swop if oner to 12vt. Or gas, nice large fridge very pleased with it.

Domestic CMbicool three way camping fridge.
Arrived a day late, but well worth the wait, it's fab and kept everything chilled on our recent camping trip, the gas canisters are so easy to replace and so handy, as it uses the same canisters as our camping gas stove. We love it .
