Cheap, basic VR fun
Despite the other reviews, I purchased seven of these as cheap gag gifts for my tech team (poor man's oculus). Turns out that in addition to the joke, my team actually thought that they were neat. We had no problems figuring out how to assemble them and once we downloaded a couple of the apps designed for this type of case, we got some cheap thrills riding a virtual roller coaster and such. This isn't something you're going to use often, but it's a neat little cheap toy - my 8 year old son enjoyed it as well. It is designed for 5" phones, so larger ones may not fit correctly.

Niffty little toy, but the link on companies website does not work for the iOS and it's hard to find things that work with it do download from the iTunes. Sucks for the iphone user but my daughters Samsung works well, except the magnetic cause the screen to do weird things if it gets too close.

Great
Great stuff. Now if we could only get a few more games/apps for 3D.

Meh
This was overly complicated and the instructions were pretty awful. I had tried Google cardboard, and this DODOcase version was very disappointing in comparison.

works with iphone
I tried version 1.2 with my iPhone 5 and it works pretty well. Even though there aren’t a lot of apps for the iPhone, it’s fun to watch 3d videos on youtube. The lenses are pretty decent.Assembly isn’t all that difficult, but you do need to pay attention to the directions and take it step by step. I had thought it would just be finished in a few folds, but that’s not the case. The pieces are a little hard to get together, and do not fit as neatly as the version 1 example in the photos. Though if you look closely at those pics, you can see the bottom tabs slipping out of the slots there too.The middle piece that goes between the eyes tends to shift around, along with the metallic reflector inside; I will probably end up taping them more securely. I do like that the piece between the eyes is much wider than in the original version. My kit was missing the piece of wood used for a toggle, but I didn’t ask for a replacement since I don’t think that feature works for the iPhone.Overall, this is a fun and cheap way to experiment with 3d on your phone.

It's fun to play with
I purchased this Cardboard at a book store. The packaging said it was the 1.1 version, yet the actual unit said it was the 1.2 version. A few of the components were missing from the box (but I was able to improvise, and get it working). It's fun to play with; however, they clearly need to work on their quality control. I know it's not an incredibly expensive unit, but it would be nice for all the right pieces to actually come in the box.
